Re: Shooting Ranges in Killeen area?
It's worth the drive down to Best of the West Range in Liberty Hill. First class facility, no bull, shoot to 1000yds on the rifle range, get a bay to yourself, $16/day. Nothing even comes close.

Re: old guy sights
Old and/or poor eyesight guys: relief is here! Get yourself a red dot sight on your pistol. They are small and reliable enough now for everyday concealed carry. Not cheap but makes all the difference to the farsighted, lets you focus on target. Lone Wolf does the "slide melt" install where...

Re: My letter to USAA with the passage of SB321
USAA is a great financial company, BUT, it's run by the same former Generals who don't trust soldiers with CHLs to carry on post, even in the face of the "Traitor Hasan" Fort Hood Massacre and other "mad shooter" tragedies. I want my bank to be "risk adverse" when it co...

Re: Ammo and Flying
Go original ammo box. What is bad is that if they deny you, they won't confiscate it, they will just tell you that you can't check it, which will leave you holding all that junk at the airport watching your flight depart.

That's really lame. How about just give NRA a million upfront? That would generate a lot more goodwill than this gimmick.

Re: Summertime clothing options for CC
I also forgot to mention that I, too, wear suspenders on my shorts, underneath the customary outside T-shirt or outside shirt. The suspenders carry the weight, often of two handguns in my case, and the instructor belt which I now use can be worn relatively loosely without strangling your midsection...

Re: Training/Lessons... in Houston
Good for you seeking more instruction. I find it interesting though that someone who is "decently accurate" with point shooting thinks he needs to replace that with "doing it properly". Point shooting vs sighted fire isn't an either/or situation, you may use and need both in a dy...

Re: G30 or G30SF
I haven't tried this myself, but supposedly you can mount the G36 slide on the G30 frame and get a double-stack compact .45 Glock. Sounds like the best of both. I have a 36 too but the 6rd mag is just too much of a limitation for me to EDC.

+! for cargo shorts. Outside of that you are looking at Thunderwear or belly band (hot).texanron wrote:Have you tried cargo shorts? I conceal a G26 in an IWB holster on a belt with no problems wearing cargo shorts. If you have tried these perhaps a smaller size would help.

Re: Trust "Loophole"
What these anti-NFA jurisdictions are doing by blanket refusing to sign off any NFAs, is missing an opportunity to know who is actually getting these firearms/devices. Once word gets out that a DA/Sherriff/etc will not sign-off on NFA, everyone just goes the trust/corp route instead and local author...
