That's how I feel. I'm not getting out of this socialist hellhole to see my native state become one.

I don't think it will happen. Most of the rest of the country won't stand for it, and if any of the Congress(wo)men from free states are inclined to support it, they will be in dire jeopardy of ending their careers, like what happened in 1994.

That said, we cannot rest on our oars, or just sit around hoping. Anyone who supports this needs to be voted out, no matter what other amusing virtues they may pretend to have.

I supported a form of term limits, which is replacing ALL 435 Congressmen at once, if only for the impact it would have on the new guys. The People are watching, bucko!

Re: Info from Sen Feinstein's website on proposed ban

Senator Feinstein came to prominence upon the murder of San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk and Mayor George Mosconi by fellow Supervisor Dan White. She served as the board's first female president in 1978, during which time the assassinations of Mayor George Moscone and City Supervisor Harvey Milk drew national attention to the city. Feinstein, who was the first to discover the shootings, succeeded Moscone as mayor. Since then, if not before, she has been a relentless uncompromising foe of gun ownership.

What she is describing is essentially what we live with in California. AR-15 type rifles, among others, are banned by name in Penal Code 12276. I won't take up bandwidth by copying the list but it is extensive. You can see what she has in mind by referring to California Firearms Laws published by the Department of Justice, http://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/pdfs/ ... l2007.pdf? If you owned these prior to the specified date, they are grandfathered.

Magazines of more than 10 rounds are prohibited unless you owned them in CA prior to the magic date. Only approved handguns may be sold at retail, although peace officers can sell unapproved guns privately to anyone, and if you move to CA you can bring them in, but no magazines more than 10 rounds, and sell them. I bought an HK45 from a cop who needed some ready cash, perfectly legal, although HK45 is not on the approved list. The penalty is that no unapproved handgun can be listed on a CCW, for the few who have them. I did not renew mine last time in anticipation of the move to Texas.

To buy a handgun, retail, gun show, private etc. you have to go through an FFL, and there is a 10 day wait for DOJ approval. You must have a Handgun Safety Certificate issued within 5 years, and you can buy no more than one handgun at retail every 30 days.

But wait! There's more! Look at the link to the Gun Laws booklet. That's what DiFi has in mind.
