Re: Walmart Sells "Seconds"?
Cyphertext, I'm going to make your day. You win. I was wrong. I was talking about what is typically stocked and sold in the stores. I never ever thought not would I consider ordering a gun from Wal-Mart's catalog.
You win the internet debate championship of the day. Enjoy your victory.
When I decide to purchase a top of the line anything, I won't be going to Wal-Mart. Glad it works for you.

First off, I wasn't talking about what could be ordered through Wal-Mart. Nonetheless, what's the rest of the model number of your colt LE6920?cyphertext wrote:You have already been given examples... Colt LE6920 for one. I can special order a Remington 700 BDL with walnut stock from the book at Walmart. I special ordered my son's rifle because I wanted a different stock than the one that was available in the showcase.mojo84 wrote:Show me a top of the line gun sold at Wal-Mart.cyphertext wrote:What? I'm not talking about damaged or dangerous. I know for a fact that sell stripped down guns that have lesser grade components, such as stocks and optics. Do you not realize that just about every manufacturer has multiple quality grades of of there products? Do you think all gunstocks are created equal?
Why do some guns from a manufacter cost less than other guns from the same manufacturers? Wal-Mart does not carry the top of the line guns. That doesn't mean some of their gun aren't the same as those sold elsewhere.
For those that still doubt this, go compare the shotgun and rifle stocks and wood to others. They typically use cosmetically lesser wood.
You statement that WalMart doesn't carry top of the line guns is not true. They do market lower end models as well as exclusive model firearms, but they also sell top of the line weapons, as R2C stated SIG-Saurer AR's, Colt AR's etc. The WalMart in Burleson, TX had a Remington 700BDL 30-06 in their case when I was there last summer. That's a $1000 rifle retail, definitely on the higher end of Remingtons 700 series. Their price was about 650 bucks. On the other end my local Wally World has Remington 770's with scope for $240, choice of calibers - 7mm-08Rem, .270 Win and .243 Win

Re: Walmart Sells "Seconds"?
Here is one example of what is sold at Wal-Mart.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Remington-770 ... n/17474416
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remington_Model_770
Can anyone show me an example of a top of the line gun that walmart sells?
Do you guys really believe Wal-Mart sells the top of the line in anything? Even the TV's they sell are low to mid range models and not the latest technology or highest quality.
What about Wal-Mart suits? Do you guys go there to get the highest quality suits?
Keep in mind, Wal-Mart is a discount retailer.

Re: Walmart Sells "Seconds"?
This is more all or nothing. They do carry weatherby, charles daley, colt, Winchester and others. Are all of the guns that they carry "top of the line" for each manufacturer? Even a Remington bdl or abl come with different grades of wood. Many of the ones carried at Wal-Mart are have the lower grade wood. Not all but many.Right2Carry wrote:I think you are the one who is confused about the OP about firearms. I have purchased both a Colt and a Weatherby from wal mart and they are identical to the guns that the manufacture lists on the website. Unless you have some sort of proof that Wal-Mart is engaging in deceptive practices like selling a Colt LE6920 as new when it is actually a "second", I would stop engaging in the rumor mill.mojo84 wrote:Right2Carry wrote:Wal-mart sold Sigs and Colt ARs. I have yet to see anyone provide any proof only speculation.

Re: Walmart Sells "Seconds"?
I still say they do not carry the top of the line manufactured by the gun companies. Even within models, there are varying grades of quality. They carry a range of lines but I do not believe they carry the top line highest grade quality guns. Usually, the wood guns have lower grade wood stocks.

Many times I read and respond to the original post without reading through all of the subsequent posts in the thread. I didn't read your post. It seemed awfully wordy. Sorry if I stepped on your toes.puma guy wrote:As stated in my post Walmart has special models made by manufacturers for their price point, have fewer features and utility wood stocks such as birch wood or even laminated.
