What in the world is happening in Houston and Harris County? Seems like one doesn't want to be an unborn child there.
Houston is heavily Democrat, but not Harris County. Ogg wouldn't have a chance in the DA's race, but for this controversy over Planned Parenthood.

Chas.
I wish the Planned Murderhood case would have been handled better then.

Chas.
Since I do not live in Harris County. I will not be voting for either. My comment was not a political statement. Right is right and wrong is wrong regardless which party one belongs to.

I also didn't say anyone specific including the DA. My comment and anger is towards whomever pursued their agenda by indicting the whistleblowers and not the criminals that kill babies and sell body parts. The videos are Very clear what was going on.

Again, my comment was not meant to be political as I know very little about the details of Harris County politics.

Re: Houston Grand Jury indicts pair behind Planned Parenthood videos

The corrupt people in Houston's DA office need to be terminated. They used their office and authority to intimidate and advocate. Planned Murderhood should be the ones indicted.

The last of the charges have been quietly dismissed.

Re: Houston Grand Jury indicts pair behind Planned Parenthood videos

This is further evidence of the sad state our country finds itself. A country can't survive when good guys are being made out to be the bad guys and vise versa and what is right is wrong and what's normal is abnormal and what is scrupulous is unnscrupulous etc.

I'm starting to feel like we're under siege and most around me are oblivious or complicit. Not a good feeling,

Re: Houston Grand Jury indicts pair behind Planned Parenthood videos

The conflict of interest within the Houston DA's office is starting to come to the surface.

Planned Parenthood Attorney Admits Receiving Confidential Materials from Houston DA
Daleiden’s Motions Alleging Prosecutorial Misconduct and Collusion Prove True

The Thomas More Society announced today that recent court filings in the Houston-area civil and criminal cases against undercover journalist David Daleiden reveal that the Harris County District Attorney’s office illegally shared evidence with Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast attorney Josh Schaffer admitted in a sworn declaration that the DA’s office shared materials and information with Planned Parenthood, even after the Texas Attorney General’s office had forbidden them from doing so. The declaration was included as part of the DA office’s response to David Daleiden’s motion to quash the indictment against him, alleging prosecutorial misconduct.

Re: Houston Grand Jury indicts pair behind Planned Parenthood videos

It would not surprise me one bit to find out this is really what is behind the indictment of the pro-life folks instead of the Planned Murderhood organization.

A conservative attorney is out with bombshell evidence showing that Texas medical schools have been purchasing organs taken from aborted babies by Planned Parenthood. Briscoe Cain, the Texas legal counsel to the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue, revealed invoices and emails showing the illegal sales. - See more at: http://www.empowertexans.com/features/t ... Re: Houston Grand Jury indicts pair behind Planned Parenthood videos

It's a shame the Harris County DA's office is more concerned about someone that faked ID's in order to exposed baby murders and those selling human body parts. Planned Murderhood appears to be above the law.

In Texas, there was no scrutiny before these videos? I find that hard to believe. We are better than that, IMO. And we have been all over PP for years and years. Both in Texas and nationally.
mojo84 wrote:I find it interesting people whine and cry that there is no investigative reporting done nowadays and then when it is done, people turn on the people that do it. Is that not a double standard and hypocritical?
If a person is complaining about not enough investigative reporting and then ripping it apart, there is a percentage of the complainers that are being hypocritical. But in and of itself, wanting something and wanting something done well doesn't make a person a hypocrite.

I think to be in context, you should need to quote the parts of the bible that say it is okay to give up/forego our integrity when dealing with abortion (or any other wrongs that we are dealing with). We can disagree on whether or not the actions of the video takers had integrity. I do not believe that we should be debating if integrity is disposable if the adversary is bad enough. I just don't see that in my scripture.

I do not believe what they did compromised or disposed of integrity. Since that is my position, I do not need to quote the bible about integrity or honesty.

Look at it this way. If a female cop is put out on the street corner soliciting for johns, is that illegal or lacking in integrity? How about a cop posing as a john soliciting services or favors for money?

I find it interesting you seem to be holding the people that exposed the baby killers to a much higher standard than you do the baby killers.

Re: Houston Grand Jury indicts pair behind Planned Parenthood videos

I would not have look for this if baldeagle hadn't posted his comments.

http://thefederalist.com/2016/01/25/hou ... arenthood/
Lauren Reeder, one of the prosecutors in the Harris County district attorney’s office, revealed last August that she was a member of the board of directors for the Planned Parenthood affiliate that was targeted by Daleiden.

Reeder’s LinkedIn page indicates that she has been a Planned Parenthood board member since 2013 and a fundraiser for the abortion provider since 2009:

That is assuming they actually did break the law. The grand jury does not make that determination.

They also should not ignore another party breaking the law because it isn't politically correct.
For all the people condemning the indicted or cheering for Planned Parenthood, this should give you pause. The prosecuting attorney who obtained the indictment is an active board member of Planned Parenthood of Houston. That's not exactly an impartial public official.

I suspect the charges will either be thrown out or they will win at trial. AG Paxton also said the state will continue to investigate Planned Parenthood.
Very enlightening information baldeagle. Thanks for posting that. Maybe such information should be required to be disclosed in the press releases and media articles so that some won't be so quick to assume an indictment means someone is guilty.

This was my thought as well. If we (generalization of conservatives) claim to be the party/group of integrity, I didn't see a lot of integrity in the editing/making of those videos.
Do you realize they also posted the entire unedited versions of the videos?

I agree, this is a sad time for Texas. If what they did is illegal, then every undercover police and reporting operation needs to be shut down and the perpetrators indicted.
I do know that they released those videos, and they weren't nearly as damning as the edited ones made them out to be. But the "main stream media" didn't really cover those videos, did they? Spin always sucks when the other team uses it. No one minds so much when "out team" uses it. I think that Philippians 4:8 applies here for me. Yes, I realize quoting scriptures is incredibly ineffective in most debates because a person can find one to say just about whatever they want if they dig far enough. But my point in my original post still stands. Let us be honorable. Let us be pure. let us be of good repute. Let us be true. Let us be worthy of praise. A paraphrase of Phil. 4:8.

_IF_ police and reporters and breaking the law or possibly breaking the law, I hope that lots and lots of grand juries are looking into them. Undercover does not automatically mean fraudulent or illegal.
The full length videos were posted also. It's not their fault the media only carried the edited videos. I do not believe the edited versions made it any more inflammatory or was done in a manner to change the message. It was done to show the parts that had the discussions about the illegal activity. Very few people would sit through several hours of video. However, I did and did not find anything misleading about what Planned Murderhood was doing.

If you want to quote the bible, how about quoting the parts about murder of the innocent and the unborn in the mother's womb.
