Re: Universal Cry for help for nearby CHLs
Another tradition for calling the clan together, which never really caught on here, well, for a little while anyway, was to light a signal fire, usually in the form of a cross to define it from just a plain old fire.Kensterfly wrote:A post in another thread got me to thinking. If you were in a large crowd situation (parade, street fair, pre-game tailgating, Saturday afternoon WalMart parking lot) and trouble came your way, wouldn't it be nice to yell out a verbal signal that would bring other CHL holders running to assist you?
Sort of like the Highlanders of Scotland once used: "A Douglas!! A Douglas!! and the whole clan would come rushing into the glen, claymores drawn. A similar number of responders might be the result in Texas!
One board member said his instructor suggested yelling "CHL!!! CHL!!" You'd need something that would easily be heard and understood by the CHL community.
Maybe a simple Carry! Carry! Carry! Of course, the word would have to get out throughout the land for this to work.
Just wondering.
