Re: Open carry (in the home) and door to door sales?
I've had several contractors working in my house over the past few years putting in a new A/C unit, replacing the siding (Hardie Board is awesome, BTW), etc. I'm always tempted to OC when they show up to do the work - especially in cases where we have a signed contract, so they can't back out. I'd ...

Re: Open carry (in the home) and door to door sales?
I regularly carry openly in my front yard or driveway. I get home from work, and since it's 100 degrees outside, I don't put on my jacket to walk out front to pick up the paper, get the mail, turn on the lawn sprinkler, etc. If the neighbor is out front I might stand there and talk to him for awhile...

Re: Campsite security
I find that well placed punji pits around the perimeter work well. I just hate it when I forget where they are and I step in one myself!

Remember, civil immunity does NOT mean you can't be sued. It means it *should* be dismissed fairly quickly, but it can still cause you an expensive headache.BrianSW99 wrote:

I wouldn't have minded that. Longer days but getting out a day early. Kind of hard on the butt, though!

That's the point. The bad guys don't care about context. They are looking for a pretext to harm those of us who believe in the Second Amendment.

Re: Sales Tax Question
The thread was talking specially about sales tax not federal income tax. :banghead: I understood that, but the specific quote I was referencing said : "I don't charge tax and I don't pay tax." Maybe it's just me, but I'll bet there are some gun-unfriendly federal folks who watch sites lik...

Re: Instructors Class, What's it Like?
My experience was that the instructor's class was stretching the CHL class into 4 days instead of 1. I agree that the instructors were great, and I think they realize that the class is longer than it needs to be, but they can't really express that opinion. We were told NOT to bring our guns into cla...

Wow, you stayed until 8 pm at night? We stayed until 5 in our long class. Was it still 4 classroom days and firing on Friday?

Re: Sales Tax Question
Uuuhhh, guys, I know I'm new here, but may I offer a bit of advice about how you word your posts? When you say that you don't pay taxes, I assume that you mean you don't send any sales tax to the state for your class fees. Right? It could almost sound like you're saying that you don't pay ANY taxes ...
