Re: I want to build an AR
My opinion the upper is easier to put together than the lower. Nothing really hard about it if your upper receiver is not stripped. Like others have said, you'll need $75~100 in AR15 tools, a vise, and a torque wrench.

Re: Glock 19: Way too big to carry.
I carry a G19 in a Crossbreed Supertuck. Very comfy and easy to conceal at the 3:30 position. I wear jeans almost exclusively and I do not like to tuck when using the G19. Makes a large bulg which I think is obvious since I am very slim. When I have to tuck in jeans, I IWB a Kahr CM9 which is thinner.

Re: Gun belt
I have one from http://www.agcustomgunleather.com/catalog.php?item=4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You should expect to pay $60 to $80 for a good double layer leather belt.

Re: Action Block and Tools?
I like the DPMS upper block. The upper pins to it as it would to a lower so it is not in the way for installing the dust cover or forward assist. Very solid to work with as well. Shop around, I found it online for about $35.
I use the Plastix Plus lower block available from Midway.

Re: Hog Hunter's -- Your help please.
I've considered the .458 for an AR build, but I don't have enough purpose to justify the cost right now and parts are still relatively limited. I'm leaning towards .300 BLK for the build I have planned for next year, just because of the parts interchangability with my 5.56 AR. If the market opens u...

Re: Considering AZ CCW
My understanding is yes. Utah will only issue out-of-state if you already have a home in-state CHL.Keith wrote:If you have your Texas CHL and a Texas resident can you still reissue your Utah license? Ive heard different answers to this.

In the future, AZ may not let you renew it, like Utah has done.

Re: Liability as a result of 30.06 posting
I've already told my kids and GF if I'm ever hurt or killed at work, or at a 30.06 location, sue the crap out of them. It may not fly in court, but they denied me the right to protect myself so the burden is now on them as far as I'm concerned. A good greedy lawyer would get a settlement out of court.

Re: First gun for my daughter
If she gets a rifle that uses a detachable magazine, consider that she may have trouble loading the mag. My daughter can't get more than 3 or 4 in her mag before I end up loading it for her. I would have gone with a tube fed if I had known.

Re: Can You Shoot to Protect Property in TEXAS
Legally I think you can but you have a better chance of defending your actions if the shooting occured at night, as the statute specifically mentions "theft" and "mischief" at night. During the day I think you would have to rely on "burglary". § 30.04. BURGLARY OF VEHIC...

Re: Hog Hunter's -- Your help please.
Once you start shooting them, they may go noctournal quickly. You may want to look seriously at a flashlight/laser combo along the lines of Streamlight TLR-2. Another real handy $200+ toy that, if shooting a semi, can make the difference between hitting one or two when ya jump em in the dark and hi...
