Re: New Mexico Drops Several States Including Texas
Yes, it looks like as long as you meet their criteria for CHL, you are still good. It only applies to people who have a Texas CHL and don't meet NM's criteria (if they had applied for one in NM they would have been denied). So, it looks like most of us are still OK... Good luck trying to enforce tha...

Re: Used Pepper Spray This Evening
Very well anticipated and handled! Scary situation indeed.... I was commuting to San Fran/Oakland area for several weeks this year, mostly took the BART train and sometimes had to work near the Occupy Oakland crowd. Some real characters on the train at night, needless to say I didn't feel too safe. ...

Re: My firm's policy on concealed carry
You are free to ignore your company policy, but you risk having to find a new job if you are caught. Weigh the risks and make your decision accordingly. Yeah, the risk of getting caught with vs. the risk of getting caught without, while being shot at. I looked into this, because the head safety off...

My firm's policy on concealed carry
So what do you guys think of my company's stated policy on carrying a weapon? I work for an accounting firm that has partners as a consultant, travelling to client sites: Possession of personal weapons by any partner or staff at any time on Firm or client premises, or on Firm business anywhere, is p...

Re: Hypothetical Discussion
All good points guys... I know that I'd never provoke a fist fight while carrying, and avoid one at all costs. My hypothetical was around getting jumped by someone, I suppose. But it looks like the best response is to treat it as any other attack and be prepared to draw, you can't assume to be able ...

Hypothetical Discussion
OK, here's a what-if question I'd like to get yous guys' opinion on: I'm a fairly big guy (six four, 235), and given the "means-intent- ability " criteria for drawing my weapon, I'd have to be pretty much attacked by someone with a weapon of their own, or multiple people at once in order t...

Re: Thoughts on Tim Schmidt / U.S. Concealed Carry?
I joined a couple months ago, and just cancelled earlier this week. I also got shotgunned with ads to my email account, and didn't see any benefit from being a member, except access to a few articles on guns and carrying. I'm now waiting to see how good his "bulletproof guarantee" is... :r...

Re: August 2011 Applications
The wife just got hers, took exactly 3 weeks from start to finish (Aug 8th mailing to 29th arrival). Mine is unfortunately hung up on a payment technicality, but hopefully they'll kick start it again shortly.

Wow..... up to 20 years and $10,000 fine...
Puts a WHOLE 'nother perspective on the importance of avoiding a road rage incident while carrying. Sounds like I'm not going to be pulling my gun unless it's crystal clear that I need to use it in self-defense.

Re: Road Rage!
It would behoove us to remember the first CHL involved shooting in Texas was a road rage incident. I hear ya. Getting a CHL is definitely a behavior-changing event in your life, if you are inclined to act before you think of all the consequences. I am well aware of my responsibilities once I'm carr...

Road Rage!
Well, had me one of those Road Rage incidents this morning on the way to work. Dude in an Impala SS comes blazing up behind me in a 40 zone, doing around 60-65. Just as I try to change lanes, he tries to shoot around me onto the on ramp. So I end up "cutting him off", and so it begins! :bo...

Re: Should I, or Shouldn't I...? Black Talon
This was also one of the "evil but no proof of" features of the Black Talon, what I forgot to add was that the bullet became most well known from 2 shootings. The one I remember more vividly was the man on the train or subway that opened fire and killed several people. Yes, that would be ...
