Thanks your your replies. About a year ago, they changed their name to "The Y" and made kind of a big deal about it. It didn't occur to me that they were removing the word Christian. In my naivte, I was thinking it was the M...not just for men. It all makes sense, now.

YMCA

When I first got my CHL in September of last year, like everyone else, I started to become more aware of 30.06 signs. The YMCA where we are members has such a sign. I even talked to the head of my branch about it and he said it was an insurance issue from corporate. Since then, though, I've been trying to find a way to get exercise another way. Things finally worked out and I cancelled my membership last week. When the girl who did the exit interview asked why I was cancelling, I turned and pointed at the sign and said, "That sign that makes me give up my personal protection and advertises to criminals that only unarmed, law abiding citizens are inside. I don't feel safe here." She looked pretty shocked! :shock:

One less place I have to go unarmed!
