SC Sheriff voices his opinion on CC
I'm sure most folks here will agree with Sheriff Wright's sentiments. I know I do... LOVED the quote about his take on gun control!

Re: BATFE Declares No Guns for Medical Marijuana Users
MJ is ILLIEGAL under current Federal law. Prescription meds are LEGAL, when used as prescribed. Intoxication is fairly well defined. If you're intoxicated using prescription meds (as prescribed), then you should not be carrying, just as you should not be carrying under the influence of alcohol. Fed...

Re: happens so fast, would you have been able to draw?
If I was engaged like this at point blank I'd attempt to land a solid punch to the gunman's neck or under the chin, then draw down on the guy while hastily backing up... A good pop would likely buy you enough time to draw and get a bead on him. Of course, this is all assuming that my Hollywood Seaga...

Nothing wrong with a Springfield! Nice 1911's.. That Ed Brown looks like a sound choice. Looking forward to the day I can get away with splurging on a nice piece like that.

Re: Winchester 9mm white box quality
I strongly suggest that everyone stay away from this junk until Winchester gets their act together on this. Perhaps a not so well desinged pistol could have had a catastrophic failure with serious injuries. Online ammo prices these days are too attractive to be putting up with this kind of bad QC. ...

Re: New CHL'er in the Dallas area
Last night I briefly, but honestly explained to the Mrs. why I carry. It then dawned on me that I've never done that before... I know she's coming to accept it, and maybe even appreciate it a little. Still, I'll forever be referred to as her "cowboy" and she'll continue to roll her eyes wh...

she's a gun owner herself. She loves to shoot! she's still anti-gun. :confused5 Welcome aboard... I can think of a few threads where you'll fit right in... Yeah, some logic. She only bought a gun so she could go to the range with me. Same reason she bought golf clubs. ...since high school...

Re: New CHL'er in the Dallas area
All great advice, especially that seat belt analogy! My parents live in South Dallas off Samuell and I30. It's pretty bad down there. We're no strangers to frightening neighborhoods. Before I knew her, she was assaulted in a rough area.It was pretty bad. For these reasons, I'm surprised she doesn't ...

Don't tell her. Haha! I don't usually tell her, actually! Typically it's a hug, a bump, a grope, whatever, that transitions into a death stare when she discovers that I'm packing. Funny thing is, she's a gun owner herself. She loves to shoot! She swears up and down that I'll never need it...

How about "The Sidekick" or "The Noisy Neighbor" or "Death Caddie"?
Maybe that last one was in bad taste...

New CHL'er in the Dallas area
Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've had my license for a few weeks now, and have already tackled the "wally walk". I do still catch myself checking my shirt tail every few minutes when I'm out and about, but am overall pretty comfortable. I carry a Glock 23 IWB at 3-4 o'clock and I'm a...
