Re: Looking for LC9s Pro Feedback - And a Thank You!

The only downside for me was that that less than a month after getting the LC9s, the pro version was announced. While not exactly the same, I did get the LC9s Pro -- and now I see that as of today, through the end of the year, Ruger is offering a $100 trade-up deal when you bring your old LC9 to yo...

Re: Looking for LC9s Pro Feedback - And a Thank You!

The trigger in the LC-9s and LC-9sPro are the same, so the "shooting" part shouldn't be different. It's a stryker fired pistol, with all that entails - crisp, repeatable trigger pulls. I love my LC-9s... it's become the primary in my EDC lineup, and my poor Walther PPS is feeling put-upon...

Re: Looking for LC9s Pro Feedback - And a Thank You!

Congratulations on your son's recovery and welcome back! Thanks, Taypo! It's one of the rare incidents where you can see the hand of G-d operating in the open, not obfuscated, no longer concealing the action he takes, which is often through "natural" means. We are beyond blessed and our c...

Looking for LC9s Pro Feedback - And a Thank You!

Looking for feedback from the LC9s Pro owners on the board, please! A few years ago I picked up a LC9 and even with some of the Galloway updates, it just sits in the safe. Too poor a trigger and the other guns in my edc rotation don't have external thumb safeties or mag disconnects. I've got a small...

Re: Moving to Louisiana, "transfer" permit?

Be careful on that one. Louisiana law says a LA resident MUST have a LA permit to carry. So, if you once transfer your residency, you will not be legal carrying on the TX permit in LA, even if you pay the $25 to change your TX license address. Thanks! A very important factor that I overlooked in my...

Re: Moving to Louisiana, "transfer" permit?

You start from scratch. Yup. I went through this same process and can confirm. You do need to start from scratch. That said, when you change your address on your Texas CHL, it will automatically because a non-resident license and you can use it to carry in LA, until you can get your LA CHP. Not sur...

Re: NEED FFL Austin

+1 for Old Cannon. I didn't have the opportunity to use his services while I lived in Austin, but I've ordered FrogLube from him and he was of great assistance when we exchanged messages regarding my brother-in-law's FFL needs. I can't speak highly enough of our interactions.

Re: Request for a Brief History on Notice Requirements

Thank you, both! Now, off to lobby our legislators to improve our CC laws. OC has always been legal in the state, but not many people did it until a few years ago. When more and more people were seen doing that more gunbuster signs started showing up affecting CC. This is exactly what happened at a ...

Re: I am a newly minted US Citizen!

Congratulations, Beiruty! Wonderful news. When my wife became a citizen, it was certainly an exciting time for the entire family. I can only imagine the added excitement of you and your wife sharing in the same ceremony. I got the hat, the quilted white shirt, Jeans, Buckle, the Belt, and waiting to...

Request for a Brief History on Notice Requirements

Would you all please briefly school me in the history of notice requirements in Texas? Since the inception of CHL licensing, has there been specific language required for signage to be enforceable? Or were language requirements introduced later or incrementally? I assume this goes back to 4413, but ...

Re: Which AR?

Congrats on the purchase! I hope you thoroughly enjoy the M&P15! My buddy has one and it's a mighty fine gun. With the 1/8 twist you'll be able to stabilize some of the heavier rounds and Magpul furniture is always nice. Post a photo, please. I was a bit late to this thread, but to preserve some...

Glad to read you went to the hospital. May you have a full and speedy recovery -- and we'll be praying for you. Unfortunately, as TAM pointed out, this may mean a lifetime of extra diligence to protect your back.

Re: Gun cleaning

There was a time when I loved cleaning my guns. Somewhere along the line, it became a chore. I am seriously considering the purchase of an ultrasonic gun cleaner. I purchased a cheap, small ultrasonic jewelry cleaner from Amazon for much less than the devices marketed as gun cleaners. It's not a pa...
