Re: A "first" when stopped by DPS last night

I drive a very nicely kept 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo - it's not my daily driver...it's 25 years old with barely 70k miles on it. I was driving in the middle of a pack of cars going around 5 or so over on a street with stop lights every quarter to half mile in rush hour type traffic. At one point I look...

Re: Houston CHL Attorney?

[Pre-paid legal service] customer here as well. I hope like crazy I never need them, but it's very cheap insurance. I met them in my CHL course...called a couple times to talk to someone with general questions and they were quick to assist. I know they have experience in this area, which is obviousl...

Re: What to do with CCW while travleing through Illinois?

I just went on vacation up there for a family renuion and drove from Austin through AR, MO and TN. I carried as I normally do until I left Memphis and I unloaded my gun, put the clip in my backpack and put the gun in my suitcase so that they were seperated, both in the back of the van. Once we got t...

I carry a P238 or a HK P2000SK - I use the Crossbreed for both. I've tried a bunch, this thing rocks.

Re: ...another reason to be glad you don't live in NY

The dead hot-head was a sanitation worker. In NYC that generally means either mob-connected, or more heavily "unioned-up" than the police union

Re: DPS phone call

I had a couple from about 20 years ago - one was originally a felony that was dropped to a misdemeanor and I had a top secret clearance in the Navy which supposedly can bring problems.

I had mine in 5 weeks.

Re: Sealed record disclosure

...where does it say that? I'm not lawyer, but sealing just looks like people are hiding something...and that may work for potential employers that are doing backgrounds on people - although they'll still see you have a conviction but they won't know what for, which may make it worse...but it ain't ...

Re: Shooting test

HAHA - that's awesome. I go shoot from time to time with a buddy of mine that's a 26 year retired SEAL Master Chief. As you can imagine - he can shoot lights out - it's insane. He attracts a lot of attention at the range. Especially when we move to the rifle range and he pulls out his 'toys'. :mrgre...

...in my class there were two people that had never even fired a weapon before, and they passed. WTH? I mean, you know you're taking the test - go the range a few times... One of the ladies was next to me and her first 10 from 3 yards were all over the place - I have no idea how she even hit the tar...

Re: One hand shooting

I'd like to see him rack the slide on my P7 without ripping the belt loop off his pants or pulling his pants down. The simple fact is - with some training or creative thinking almost anything can be done. But, not EVERYONE can do it. And, while there are certainly weapons that have easier slides to ...

Re: One hand shooting

...well, think about this. What if you were incapacitated in some way with one hand/arm - or didn't have a hand/arm. Could you work a semi-auto? Nope. How would you cycle the slide after a mag change? That person could use a revolver though...
