Re: Range Rental - North Fort Worth ??
Guys, Any updates on ranges that are instructor friendly throughout DFW? I am moving from Abilene to Dallas soon and have spent all morning surfing the web and calling gun ranges throughout DFW. I am not having much luck. The only range that agreed to let me come out was Elm Fork and they charged $2...

Re: Aggravated at lack of instructor renewal classes
There had been talk nearly a year ago of needing NRA, TECLOSE, or other certification. A lot of instructors proactively got NRA certification. Then there were the instructors who put it off till the last minute. :headscratch Just sayin'. Yes you are right, there had been talk of it. However I was n...

Re: Aggravated at lack of instructor renewal classes
I would have started sooner to renew but the law didn't change til September. If I would have renewed with another instructor, the way it used to be, I would have had to do it twice. Plus it seemed like the requirement to get the NRA certification was up in the air for awhile, so I waited til it was...

Aggravated at lack of instructor renewal classes
I completed my NRA certification in mid-December and sent in all the paperwork. The first renewal class opening they had was Feb 3rd in Georgetown. When I left Abilene on Feb 2, The roads were extremely icy so I had to turn around and could not make the class. I immediately sent them an email tellin...

Re: Still bummed about no class renewals
I have a guy that needs to renew in October and wants to come to the class. I told him it is not required, but he is adamant that he wants to come to the whole thing. Is there anything wrong with me charging him full price, since my expenses are the same, and giving him a CHL-100 just like he is a b...

Re: Strange call from "Regulatory services."
In my instructor class last year I remember them saying to keep copies of the test but that we did not have to keep scores for the shooting portion. I have kept all the student tests, copies of the CHL-100, CHL-7, & CHL-8. I hope that is enough.

Re: New Instructor in need of guidance
I used http://www.incfile.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, they were much cheaper than Legal Zoom. I think it was $30 plus state filing fee of $300. It took less than a week for everything to be done.

Re: Active Duty Army and the Shooting Portion of the CHL
I am Active Duty USAF and I didn't have to shoot. My instructor said if I had qualified on 9MM in the last 5 years I was good. I picked up the form from the range on base and mailed it in with the rest of my package and had no issues. He did offer me the option to shoot if I wanted to.
