Absolutely. And back to the topic of this thread... Still waiting!
My application is considered overdue "after 12/07/2011."
Does that mean they'll actually say something on the 8th, if not before, or is that just something DPS throws into their canned replies to get people to stop pestering them for at least 60 days?

Absolutely, and I brain-farted writing the last post; Cricketts are surprisingly accurate little .22's. If you can shoulder it. Firing a full-stocked rifle as a pistol doesn't work so well.

Strider67, I'm not trying to bash your suggestion at all; in fact, I think for what it is, the Cricketts are fine little beginner rifles. They're surprisingly reliable and dirt-cheap most places.
Only drawback is that it'll be outgrown pretty quickly, but in all likelihood, won't last quite that long.

No worries, GIJoe, I'm at over a month. When I try and email them I just get a canned response saying "Your application isn't overdue until it's been 60 days, please call us at ##########."
Which is all good and well. 'Cept my email states that when I tried calling I spent 20 mins on hold then got hung up on...

Don't sweat it; I put mine in the mail on the 6th and didn't get an update confirming materials received until yesterday.
