Re: I Need a New EDC
I might have missed your reason for not wanting the 938 after liking the 238. I have both in the SAS style. They both use the same Sig pocket holster and the holster covers the safety in the same manner. The 938 is noticeably heavier than the 238. It is a bit harder to operate the slide at first but...

Walmart and MSR's
I came across this article today and wondered if it can be verified? http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/walmart-is-going-to-stop-selling-ar-15s-and-other-assault-rifles/ar-BBm7wZt?li=AA54ur&ocid=iehp The gist of the article is that Walmart will stop selling Modern sporting rifles (AR's) in the nex...

San Antonio visitors
So this is way off topic, and if it is too far off then, Please fell free to lock or delete as you see fit. We have some friends from out of state who will be visiting San Antonio for the first time at the end of the month. They will be staying somewhere down by the Riverwalk. They do like to find p...

I was used!
As a roadblock of all things. Though if any of you met me you might think that would be an obvious decision. A week ago I had the family in the suburban and we were downtown Dallas for brunch. On the way out of town we were crossing town on the mix-master and had moved into the right lane in p...

Re: The Eric Garner case
I try not to get caught up posting in this forum, but occasionally a topic is too tempting to pass up, so forgive me. There is some merit to the argument of not resisting arrest. He was a huge guy and while he was not violent he was clearly, at the point where the video clip shows, not ready to meek...

Thanks for the feedback. I will have to try to get over that way and see what I can do with this thing.

Re: shotgun patterning
I bought the 2.75" with the gun. I am pretty sure I have some 3" stashed away also. The gun is capable of using either.jmra wrote:2.75" or 3"? I like 2.75" is my 500A for home defense.

shotgun patterning
While meandering through Cabela's the other day, I paused to look at a shotgun for home defense purposes. Having hunted and shot skeet and sporting clays with my trusty 870 (30" full choke) in all types of conditions and lighting, I knew that I wanted another one or a clone for this use. I was ...

Re: Zoning and site plans and stuff
Unfortunately most areas use "economic development" as the overriding criteria when examining new proposals. If they have a written zoning plan then that is the starting point. Become familiar with all the points that the permit application must address. Meet with the zoning officer and as...

Re: U.S. Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl freed in Afghanistan
I don't want to sound down on the guy, I'm not. They need to observe him very close for a while, they had him for 5 years and can plant a lot of ideas under duress. Is it too much to hope that this could be a two way street x5? Not that we will ever know the real truth of it but BB's actions speak ...

We have stayed at this place many times. Very Family oriented, ie they don't rent to the spring break crowd. Right on the beach out on the island. Don't know your budget but they have usually been reasonable.

Re: Anyone interested in a "Your first car" thread?
!969 Pontiac Bonneville. Dark green with black vinyl top. It was the best $300 I ever spent. Got me around and was easy to work on. Learned how to replace an exhaust system on that one but the timing belt blew and I was told it was not worth trying to clean all the bits and pieces out of the engine ...

Re: CB radio question
I put a CB in my 91 Suburban (V1500 4x4) when we used it for hog hunting to coordinate with other hunters in the area. I am thinking of putting a sideband capable unit in my 06 LJ Rubicon due to the fact I have been running around with a 4x4 Club as well. rwg3: What part of Texas do you Jeep in?[/qu...

Re: CB radio question
Thanks folks. I knew there were some radio gurus here and the answers that were simple enough for me to understand make perfect sense. We use CB's in the jeep club on long trail rides. The line gets strung out and when someone gets stuck it is real handy to be able to halt the ride and get the wench...
