@Justme: On Friday the 27th of January it changed to "mail status." I checked the mail everyday from Saturday until today. It took 3 mailng days.

License came in the mail today. Not bad for only taking about 29 days to send to Austin and receiving the license. Not counting fingerprints or class. Now time to do the Wally walk and to shop for a good holster.

Thanks for all the input and stories. I just checked the status early this morning and it says "MAILED." Getting excited. That took less than a month.

I didn't want to pull it up to see in what step it was in. If I did that, I would probably check every day on it. I figured if I didn't pay attention to it, it would go by faster. I did sent it through certified mail to make sure they received it. Maybe I will receive it in a week or two. :anamatedb...

I checked the DPS website for the first time and it showed Manufacturing. How long does it take to receive the card from this point. They are moving quick. I took the class on 12/31 and sent the paper work on 1/4.

@Justme, I believe you were the one telling me how good the glock is at the class. I am going to check into the glocks.

@speedsix, qualifying went great. There were several people shooting with glocks. The ones shooting with glocks gave great reviews about their glocks. I might have to check into one for myself.

I was wondering what is the best way to send your forms and photos to the state? Do you guys recommend certified mail so that you know it is received and it gets there faster? Or, do you recommend by just regular standard mail? Thanks
