Schools can give written authorization to carry. That does not take legislative measurements to implement. You can build the highest walls in the kingdom but that doesn't help if they let a murderous relative of a teacher inside the walls. Only the will and tools to fight back help then.

Re: "Off Limits" locations for CHL's
I was wondering if I can legally carry in my place of employment. I work for a school district, in the administration building. It is important to note that this is not a school and not an area where children are present or where educating occurs. I looked at the employee handbook and there is no m...

Re: NRA A-rated senator: high-cap mags not needed for huntin
I for one wish the NRA would quit endorsing these guys. Chatting on another board with some WV folks. They say Manchin passed some meaningless 'pro-gun' bills while keeping anything meaningful bottled up in committee. Heck, a few years back didn't the NRA also endorse Dingy Harry? Now he's saying h...

Re: Breaking The Gun Control Stalemate (Article)
the children at the school were murdered with two handguns while the AR15 wa still in the trunk of the vehicle That is incorrect. Every victim was shot multiple times with only .223. The handguns were never used. You're not at all skeptical about that? We were told for hours and hours that the .223...

Schools can give written authorization to carry. If they don't then the contingency plan should be home school.

Re: Teacher with CHL, gun in the car?
Ok so after doing a little more research and reading the responses here, I have come to the conclusion that she can't get in LEGAL trouble for keeping the gun in her car, but she could get fired if her school district's policy does not allow it. If she works for a government school, that's right. H...

Any justifiable restriction on us would also apply to police when they're outside work. By not making 46.035 apply to police off duty, the lawmakers admitted they know there's no reason for those restrictions except kissing Sarah Brady's boot. The same applies to 46.03 restrictions on Texans.

I think Chuy Hinojosa knows about the Second Amendment. His voting record isn't perfect but it's more pro gun than some Texas Republicans.

Re: Unusual Instructors
The Texas Legislature via the Gov't Code specifies the subject matter to be taught as well as the minimum times. The 10 hour requirement for a new license to far too long and every instructor must decide where to put the additional six hours. That's amazing. Even with an extra six hours, there are ...
