I just take my pistol out of my holster, and leave it in under the seat. I'm in and out so fast that the chances of something going down while I'm there is astronomical so I don't mind. Of course the two places that are public that I spend the vast majority of my time (work and school) I can't go armed anyway so maybe I'm just conditioned to going without.
