I did grow up around firearms.
My Dad got me a .22/.410 for my 7th birthday. It was mine, and it stayed in my room. Using it as a toy would never have crossed my mind. He and Jay Boone taught me about shooting and firearm safety. Hunting with my Dad and shooting with Mr. Boone are some of my best memories. As are the memories of teaching my daughters how to shoot.
