Hm. Tried my middle name with less lustrous results. A 4.3C rating; 158 names are more conservative; and people with that name are less likely to contribute to a political campaign than the average citizen.

The average Republican is supposedly 6.0C and the average Democrat 5.8L.

Absolutely useless and unscientific stuff, but weirdly entertaining.

Apropos of nothing--and questionable at best--but still a bit of fun. Crowdpac purports to tell you where your first name falls on a liberal/conservative scale:

They supposedly use data from the average of all campaign contributions made by persons of the same name since 1980; 10L is the most liberal, and 10C is the most conservative. I probably would not have posted this if I'd fallen on the wrong side of the road.

I'm an 8.1C; there are six more conservative names, and 1,118 more liberal names in their files. People with my first name are five times more likely to contribute to a political campaign than the average citizen.
