Re: "Failure to Carry" - CHL license.
I thought my original post was pretty clear. I forgot my billfold. It was not a rebellious attempt to circumvent the law I forgot my billfold. I then asked what the legal position was about forgetting my billfold. No ambiguity there. I then stated that if it happens again I'm not going to sweat it. ...

Re: "Failure to Carry" - CHL license.
Well I have read your responses and looked at the 46.15 Texas Penal Code. As usual the law is written in a convoluted and confusing way so as to leave no-one knowing really what the law is and what it stands for, that including the attorneys who designed it that way so as to litigate and generate bi...

"Failure to Carry" - CHL license.
I have a CHL and 'carry' 99% of the time. Last week when I left the house I was carrying my weapon but later found I had forgotten to take my billfold with me. My CHL is in my billfold. What are the consequenses for not actually having my license on my person when carrying even though licensed to do...

Re: Would you buy ..... ???
Went to the store today and bought a combination lock box with a security cable for the car today. It is installed and under the seat and ready for whatever is left in there. Thanks for the input. I am still debating on what to buy but at least I am ready and secure.

Re: Would you buy ..... ???
Thanks to all that replied to my question. It is good to have a forum like this to bounce around ideas so as to build a strategy as to where I need to go. It is only on rare occasions that I am without my PM9 so it would only be a once in a while thing to need an in the car back up. Someone suggeste...

Would you buy ..... ???
I have a CHL. My carry of choice is a Kahr PM9. There are times that I am going somewhere and know that I cannot take my weapon into that facility. I do not like to leave my PM9 in the car. I am thinking of going the cheapo route and buying a Jiminez JA9 as a 'kick around', 'who gives a rats' weapon...

Re: Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo
Here lies the problem. We are dealing with "the rule of law", "the intent of the law", "the interpretation of the law" and "the spirit of the law". Fact is the law is deliberately written by attorneys to be ambiguous so that no-one really knows what it is and ...

Expandable Batons
I have a CHL. I know it is legal to purchase an expandable baton in Texas. What are the laws with reference to carrying and or using one. There are times when protection is needed and pulling a gun with all the ramifications that go with it are just not neccessary. Example the fericious dog I have t...

Re: Green Card holder with a CHL
I am the one that started this string. Just for the record I have been in Texas for many years and have a non expiring Green Card. We seem to have gone off at a bit of a tangent. I supplied a copy of my Brit passport and a copy of my green card when I went through the CHL application process. When g...

Green Card holder with a CHL
I need to get a knowledgeable response to this precise situation and question. Situation 1st, question 2nd. Situation: I was at the gun show this weekend. I found a gun that I would have liked to purchase. I am a Texas CHL and a Green Card Holder. I had my CHL with me, my drivers license with me, my...

Re: Advice for a "Green Card" Holder
So we need to get more precise with this question. Situation 1st, question 2nd. Situation: I was at the gun show this weekend. I found a gun that I would have liked to purchase. I am a Texas CHL and a Green Card Holder. I had my CHL with me, my drivers license with me, my Green Card number with me b...

Re: What would you do?
Thank you so much for all the replies to my question. Although people have differing views as to what they would do, the one constant string is that carrying a weapon entails lots of responsibility and very fast dicision making. We are indeed accountable for the outcome of our actions. What I did th...

What would you do?
So here is the deal. You are walking from your house to the cluster mailbox 50 to 75 yards down the street to get your mail. You are ready to head out for a while so you are dressed and ready and 'carrying', but want to get your mail before leaving. All of a sudden an above mid sized dog comes charg...

Re: CHL Saturday
Hi all. Sorry it took a while to get back on the forum, and thanks to all that responded. At last look my license has been approved and is in the 'manufacturing' process. I cannot wait to do the Wally Walk. I took my training with a Glock 19 that was on loan. I currently have a Charter Arms Off Duty...
