Carlson, sorry to hear you haven't been able to enjoy the RV lately. I hope you're health improves soon and you can get back out on the road. I also look forward to the day we're able to fulltime.
Thanks to all of you for the posts and PMs making me feel welcome. I sure do appreciate the friendly atmosphere here. I invited a friend of mine in East Texas to check out the forum. He's a retired LE officer and I'm sure would fit in quite well.

Thanks for the welcome. GlockenHammer, I agree wholeheartedly with your comment. I've had people think I was nuts when they found out I enjoy shooting. Then as the discussion progresses, the subject of taking a life comes up. Often the most outspoken gun critics have no qualms about taking a life. I just don't understand it.
I'm a strong believer in the right of self-defense, but cannot picture myself shooting someone. As you can imagine, I can see myself hesitating and having my own weapon used against me. So I do the smart thing and avoid situations that could force me to make that decision. At the same time, if someone broke into the house and was a threat to the family, I know there wouldn't be any hesitation.

Howdy. I found your forum a couple of weeks ago and have enjoyed reading so much I decided to register even though I don't have a CHL and probably won't in the near future. I've thought about doing so since the beginning back in the mid 90's. I even laid out a deposit and bought a Taurus M85CH. I'm hot and cold on the idea and can never make the committment to get it done. I guess the problem is I don't know if I could take a life if I was put in that situation, so I avoid it.
Here are my vital statistics:
Age: 50 as of January 2006
Gender: Male
Marital status: Married with two step kids
Sr. Customer Engineer AKA Electro/Mechanical Technician
Years CHL: None
Present guns: Taurus M85 (once stolen and returned by PD in horrible condition), Para Ordnance 14.40, Browning Buckmark .22, and my dad's old Ranger .22 singleshot rifle that gave me tons of pleasure from the age of 12.
Other interests include RVs and motorcycles. We presently own a 33' motorhome but have trouble finding time to take trips. It's almost as difficult to find time to ride my bike which is a 2001 Suzuki Intruder 1400.
I've enjoyed reading your posts and hope I can contribute something to your community.
