Don't think the French method would apply in this situation because the cop filed battery ( probably should have been assault) charges saying it was aimed specifically at him and then waived it directly toward him...and we know a taunting frenchman only threatens to do so in your "general direction" .

I am not use about the French part but you can't help but laugh. Could you just imagine reading the arrest report "The gas was very odorous and created contact of an insulting or provoking nature with Patrolman Parsons," the complaint alleged. I have heard a lot of people describe the smell before but never to this extreme.
every time I read about this cop pressing charges I think of the blazzing saddles scene of them sitting around the campfire eating beans
