Re: LCP vs P238

Don't think anyone has mentioned the LCP does not lock open on last round. For me that is a deal breaker. The Bodyguard and P238 do lock back. I have had the LCP, Bodyguard and now carry the P238. As said, the main question will be single or double action. The BG handles better all around than the ...

Re: Marine Tells Me They Do Not Carry Their Sidearms Loaded?

Here's my experience: 2008, Al Asad Air Base, Western Iraq, Perimeter Patrols There was four sections around the base. It was a large base in the middle of nowhere. We patrolled the same quadrant for 5 months. We had met every man out there and so had the Marines before us. No imminent danger. They...

Re: Weapons that you DON'T regret selling or trading

Taurus TCP .380. Trigger was junk. Take down required a screw driver or punches if you didn't want to scratch it up. Then assembly required perfection. I had it all jammed up one time. Spent hours trying to get it back apart without tearing it up. Finally, swallowed my pride and took it to the local...

Re: Springfield XDs opinions?

As a little aside to the XDs discussion: Since privately owned firearms are not allowed on military bases, I am surprised to hear that the Fort Hood PX sells pistols. Do PX's at other sites commonly sell firearms? SIA They definitely sold them on MCAS Yuma AZ. I bought my first pistol there at the ...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?

Peace of Mind by George Strait is the song I was listening to when I joined. Not only that, I think that song or living that lifestyle would be great minus the serious lack of funds. I joined the Marine Corps at 18 and for 10 years have been on those blacktop roads (or sandy roads in some parts of t...

OK, now I am gonna have to watch you like a hawk!
Yeah just remembered that everyone can see the number of posts you have made!
The "1" looks pretty funny compared to all the five digit post counts for everyone else.

Re: Anybody else in the June 18-22 class?

Me and my Dad will be in the class on the 18th. Coming from League City. I also have a buddy from junior high/high school graduating as a Trooper that Friday. Me and him went to Marine Corps boot camp together. Big week for us I guess. Oh yeah this is my first post. Glad to be on the forum. Seems li...
