Well, I finally came out and told my wife that I got my CHL... so I've been carrying for 5 months and neither my wife or daughters ever noticed! My wife doesn't fully understand how this works and expressed concerns about how many people may be carrying in public without her noticing. I told her she needs not to worry about the people that go thru the trouble of getting licensed and not to worry about the guns she doesn't see.

She finally agreed to go shooting with me and learn how to use my guns...

I have owned guns all my adult life, and have always kept one loaded next to my bed for home defense. Last Spring, an incident in which I feared for the safety of one of my daughters made me re-think my personal/family defense strategy. I applied for my CHL the very day it happened.
