Re: Moviehouse & Eatery
The Moviehouse and Eatery in NW Austin (620 / Concordia) is not 30.06 posted and I carry everytime I go. Great place, great service, good food, and THE most comfortable seating anywhere. Highly recommend.

Re: Went to Topgolf West Houston
Top Golf attracts customers that I'd guess don't identify themselves as golfers, much like miniature golf. Not that that belittles your point. TXBO is correct. I'm no golfer, nor is anyone in my family. Yet we took our 6 & 9 yr old grandsons there, and we ALL had a great time. This place does n...

Top Golf in Austin is posted!
The TopGolf in Austin is posted. Had a great time there today with the family, but since I happened to not be carrying, I didn't notice the sign until we were leaving. We won't be going back, carrying or not.

Re: Carry in Church
Here's one: My church meets in an Austin ISD elementary school. I am convinced I cannot carry there on Sunday, but my pastor (who relocated from Chicago a year or so ago) believes we can and has even hinted that he knows of CHLers that do. I asked him if they were current or retired LEO and he said ...

Re: Went to Topgolf West Houston
Went to TopGolf Austin this afternoon (7/16/15) for the first time with the family. We had a great time, but I happened to not be carrying and did not check signage on the way in. On the way out, my wife noticed the 30.06 sign on the door. Let me just say that there is no way that this is a 51% esta...

Re: Awesome Add
Great reminder and great video, thanks for posting!
I watched both the Catholic and Christian versions, they're virtually identical (as they should be) exept for use of the word Catholic instead of Christian, and a couple of the quotes.

Re: So you're sitting in church when...
Unfortunately, we can't carry in my church because we meet in a school building in Austin. No LEOs there either, at least none that we know of. Until the stupid school law is changed, we're sitting ducks! (As are any other churches around the state who meet in schools.)

Re: Anyone carry at their job?
My employer has an explicit policy notice at the front door, including a parking lot policy. I therefore don't carry in, and don't really want to become a test case for the "Parking Lot" law (although as far as I can tell, my employer doesn't meet any of the criteria to exempt them from th...

Re: Churches that meet in public schools - let's change the
jmra - I like your thinking. That is exactly the common sense approach that I think the legislature needs to look at. If there's not a sanctioned school event taking place on the premises, then the building should be open to carry. On a larger note (and I am sure that this has been beat on countless...

Re: Churches that meet in public schools - let's change the
Hello there reh. I missed that your first post here was your first post on the forum. Welcome to the form! Hi C-dub. Thanks so much for the welcome, it's good to finally be here. I must admit that I am a new CHLer, and while I've wanted to do it for years, one of the reasons I finally did so was fo...

Re: Churches that meet in public schools - let's change the
You folks may want to consider getting out on Sunday a bit more. One of the largest churches in the city, Austin Stone, meets every Sunday downtown at Austin High, and has for years - you may want to stop by and check it out some Sunday morning or evening (yes, they are there all day). My church mee...

Churches that meet in public schools - let's change the law!
My church meets in a public school building in Austin ISD. It's clear that a regular CCH cannot carry into the building, even on a Sunday when absolutely no school activities are going on. It's also obvious to anyone in the Austin area that Austin ISD is not going to give permission to do so. I've t...
