We have the same number spots open as you have magazines. :-)

As for 5 mags being sufficient. Sure. And if you have a Glock or Beretta, you only need 2. However, the point is to make the platforms as equal as possible in functions. With 7 magazines, everybody does the same number of mag changes and hence has the same number of potential problems associated with lockbacks and mag changes.
Ok I get your point, I was not thinking about that. I finally see the picture. I wasn't thinking about 7 magazines loaded with 7 rounds each and starting with one in the pipe. I just slapped myself up beside the head.

I live in the DFW area and this sounds really interesting. I think my Ruger P89 would just love this type of match. I have never had a bad day at the range and I love to shoot. 1k rounds is a lot of rounds but I am seriously thinking about it. How many spots are left? I don't have 7 magazines for my ruger but with 50 rounds per stage I would think 5 would be sufficient. I like the idea and think it would be fun.
