or maybe your wife slipped your CHL instructor a $20 to call DPS and cast doubts on your suitability to hold a CHL license ....

I imagine not everyone has a fingerprinting location that is convenient to them. It also might be an issue of just not getting around to it until later. I never assume that everyone has the same priorities.

Well so much for that theory .......

Maybe the better question is did you apply online and when did you do it? I'm wondering if they start the background check when you apply online and not when they receive your packet.

Checked this morning and CHL status has gone to Mailed!!!!

On Friday, my application went to Background Check: Complete and Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing pending.

On Saturday, Concealed Handgun License went to just Manufacturing.

Hopefully I will receive plastic late this week/early next week!!!
