That isn't really as funny as it is odd. I'm not interested in finding out what it sounds like without hearing protection until I have to. Although, from what many have said, your hearing tends to kind of shut off during a stressful even like a defensive shooting.

My ears hurt so bad I couldn't shoot it anymore. I only fired a few rounds without hearing protection because my dad shot another .45 I remember being loud and I wanted to see. It bothered me enough that I think it could affect me and my ability to act in one of those high stress situations.

Re: Glock 30 opinions please

Great gun. I had one as my primary carry for about two years. Great shooter, no problem concealing. I switched to a G19 back in may. My decision to go 9mm was primarily for 2 reasons...1) cost to shoot. I love to shoot and .45 acp just too expensive and 2) this may sound funny but the G30 made my ears ring unbearably without out muffs or plugs. My G19 does not. Though I wear protection when I practice, I know I can empty a magazine should I ever have to with my G19 knowing I won't be wearing muffs or plugs that day. With the G30...I didn't have that confidence. The G30 did shoot well and was extremely accurate. I believe with a Glock you can't go wrong. I will say the 19 is a better hand fit.
