Stick a fork in it....
So I had held out a slim hope that my CHL would arrive in the mail yesterday. It would have been great because I had been preparing to attend the Harvest Classic Vintage and European Motorcycle Rally today in Luckenbach. Well, no such luck. My primary motorcycle is a 1978 BMW R80 and taking trips on...

application received triangle
So here's a question. My status is now showing that my CHL has been mailed. I know this does not mean it has actually been delivered to the USPS and there will be a few more days to have plastic in hand. My question is; the very top of the status list, it shows the item "application received&qu...

Re: Manfufacture Pending...Now what?
Mine updated on Monday 10/15 to Manufacturing Pending, updated yesterday to Manufacturing, and updated today to Mailed. I'm right there with you GeronimoAg. Mine shows mailed this morning as well. I wish there was someway to avoid having them actually mail it. I drive right past the DPS headquarter...

Re: Manfufacture Pending...Now what?
It seems that for most people it only stays in "manufacturing pending" for about a day before changing to "manufacturing" and then "mailed". At that point it seems to be taking about a week to have "plastic in hand". Of course these are only my observations si...

Finally!
After almost seven weeks of being "under review", I checked my status this morning and it has finally changed to "manufacturing pending".
Woo hoo. Look out Wally World!

Re: Waiting, waiting, waiting...
yep, I had one blip on mine, sent my stuff three weeks before you did and I'm still waiting. Still waiting.... It does make me feel better to know that someone waited longer than me and that it still went through OK. Looks like I still have another two weeks before I've had a longer wait ...

Re: My CHL Story So Far...
I didn't like the LC9 either. Not sure exactly what it was but the trigger pull was strange to me. I like the long trigger pull on my LCP just because there's no safety. If you like Ruger but don't like the LC9, take a look at the SR9C. It's identical to the full size SR9 but a shorter barrel and s...

Re: Docs Mailed 8/23
Looks like it's still a little early to be hitting the panic button. I know it's been easy for me to get panicked and think I'm going to be denied but that's really just my mind getting away from me. I do have a couple of blips on my record but they're minor and over 30 years old. It's been reassuri...

Re: My CHL Story So Far...
I have a Ruger LC9, it's easy to conceal (I'm actually not wearing it concealed except around the house as i'm still waiting, waiting, waiting for my CHL to finish processing) but I'm not real happy shooting it. The trigger pull is very long and it's not real comfortable to fire. I'm not thinking it...

Re: Waiting, waiting, waiting...
Looks like your wait is almost done trentwhite778. It's reassuring that other people have been waiting a while. Helps me feel not quite so singled out. Looks like you'll be doing the Wally-walk any day now.

Waiting, waiting, waiting...
It does seem a mystery to me why some applications take so much longer. I assumed mine is because there are a couple of small items in my background. I had two minor misdemeanor charges 30+ years ago. (One misdemeanor hot check and one public intoxication, i was a little wild in my early twenties). ...

Re: GLBT Friendly CHL Classes in Austin
I apologize if any one has taken any offense to any thing I've said. I never intended any guise other than to find CHL classes I might be comfortable in. I don't believe I have brought up any political, religious or moral issue other than wanting to be treated respectfully.
Respectfully,

Re: GLBT Friendly CHL Classes in Austin
.... suggest instructors who are GLBT friendly and not just GLBT tolerant if that's what you want. I would love to support someone who was GLBT friendly but am absolutely happy with someone who is GLBT tolerant. Again, thanks for all the supportive replies. I was hoping to get trained before the end...
