I noticed you are in Austin. I can almost promise you it's a delay related to the background investigation in Travis County. They take their time. I received mine in 85 days so you should be getting close. ;-)

I hear ya Bill! Rceived my licebse yesterday postmarked March 1st. Mailed last Thursday, goes a few miles and arrives on Tuesday. Don't know about you guiys but that's not too efficient. Wouldn't work with my employer. The world is just not very efficient for all the technology available, but...

85 Days and I'm Out!

Plastic finally arrived this morning. Glad the wait is over. Took the trip to Wally, had the McD's and bought ammo and a Spyderco Native. Also went to HEB for a few items on the way home. Felt good to be out and about enjoying the right to carry.

Hi Bill,

Did Janice explain any further? How long did it take for your plastic to finally arrive? I guess I could see how it could take a few days to be sent to a mail room, postage metered and then sent out.

Plastic Lost in Mail!

Anyone have their plastic lost in the mail? According the tech at DPS, mine was mailed last Thurday, March 1. I'm in Austin so it should be here by now. Just wondering if anyone ever had this happen and what's the procedure. I can see this turning my 85 days into who knows how long. AAAAGGGHHHH

Beautiful Words

As we began the moth of March, perhaps my favorite month, I logged on this morning to see the beautiful words that we in the waiting room long to see. Application complete-license issued or certificate active. Today is day 80, so it's been quite the wait. Since I am in Austin I'm hoping maybe Saturd...

Day 73 and I'm getting closer! Just heard from DPS that the Hays county review is in. Now, if only Travis county would respond I'll be good to go. However, the nice DPS lady also mentioned that there's really no time table for expecting a return. It could be today or it could be 2 more weeks. She sa...

Are you guys receiving channel 490, the Otdoor Channel without paying a premium? I was receiving this before and then one day it says I'm not authorized. There's nothing more I hate than "not authorized". I have digital cable and premium programming so I guess I should call. I thought it w...

County Investigations

Anyone with any insight into this process? According to DPS, they have no control over the timetable of the the field investigations. From what I can tell, the basic timetables are close in that your pin arrives at a certain time, the application begins processing at a certain time. All of those act...

I believe with the weather and holidays that things are running past the 60 day mark. I'm on day 67 today, and with the holiday on Monday I'll easily be in the 70's. I'm still showing processing, and the last time I spoke with DPS they were waiting on my previous counties of residence investigations.

Welcome Dr. Kyle! The waiting is tough but I believe it's easier early on when you know you still have time. After the 60 day mark it drives you crazy. At least it's driving me crazy!
