Re: Maybe another angle........?
HB 910 now goes to committee and they are going to conference over the amendment. However, if the amendment is withdrawn by Huffines, I believe the bill can be brought back for a vote without the conference reaching a conclusion? Or would that require both houses to vote on it again? (edited a bit ...

Re: Gun in the car by a suspended CHL ?
I'll put my trust in Charles Cotton WAY ahead of some unnamed assistant DA. But you're right that there is no case law. So you should behave in whatever way you are comfortable with. Can you point me to Charles Cotton's remarks concerning this? Never mind - found a good one related to the topic: ht...

Re: Gun in the car by a suspended CHL ?
The 46.15 "exception" to 46.02, like all exceptions to the law, only applies if it's is needed. In other words, it only applies to make carrying legal, if it would otherwise be illegal to carry under those circumstances. Since it is already legal (per 46.02) to carry in a car, the CHL exc...

Re: Gun in the car by a suspended CHL ?
I read 46.02 twice and I don't see anything that says "except if their CHL is suspended" or even "except for CHL" in there. What am I missing? Maybe a bit off topic from the OP, but....... 46.15 (b) (6) states that 46.02 does not apply to a CHL Hence the problem with the "M...

Re: Reinstate CHL after living out of state
I think there is an aspect regarding keeping your original license #, and such has to be reflected on the "re"-apllication docs?
I was out of state for a few years and my license expired - had to start at square 1 all over but I did retain my original license #.

Re: UPDATE--Talking to management
I'm not an attorney (but I really did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last nite!) The effective date of the new policy on the intranet should supercede the old employee handbook provisions. But if you get to the point of having to argue that........Game over anyway as Texas is an "at will" e...

Re: Glock 36 - DFW
This G36 is driving me nuts! I had to buy a new Minotaur G36 body for my MTAC (had one for my G26). Had to buy a new Bianchi Model 5 "Black Widow". (OWB) Had to buy additional mags ( originals were fine - but you can never have enough!) .45ACP ammunition seems to disappear in th...

Re: Talking to management
Well - if this is where I think - my previous statements regarding the CEO and COO being in violation and subject to dismissal are incorrect as the "personel practices" allow CEO to approve exceptions.
Maybe this would be a good time to be an exception?

A Thanks to Austin PD - very professional
Had a "left turn bandit" ruin my afternoon the other day. No injuries - EMS not requested - but my car is trashed. Thank goodness all are O.K. - could have been REALLY bad...... Austin PD responded - asked both parties for ID. I showed TDL and CHL then told the officer where "it"...
