Re: A disappointing State Fair episode 10-1-09

Went tonight with my wife and kids. I had read this post and was fearing having to provide the info. My wife was not wanded (nor was any attempt made to check the stroller). I was wanded, and my spare magazine set off the wand. The person using the wand never checked my 3:00, where I had my Glock IW...

Re: DPS Processing Times

I mailed my complete renewal packet on 10/3/2008 and received my license today (postmark 12/4). I didn't follow it on line, although I have worn a path to the mailbox the last couple weeks. :)

Re: Traveling to Oklahoma

Last trip I made to OK, I found the info about carry, but had a hard time finding laws on use of force/lethal force. If anyone can link to that info, I'd be grateful. Edit: found something, about castle doctrine... http://www.oscn.net/applications/oscn/DeliverDocument.asp?CiteID=69782 Still looking ...

Re: Bursa .380 reviews

I have the 380cc in nickel. I am happy with mine. I did have a problem with it in the beginning, as an e-clip had fallen off, but it was trivial to replace and I haven't had that problem since. I also had a few feed problems with WWB at the beginning, but that seems to have cleared up, too. In spite...

Re: SmartCarry

I have one and also have a G19 and Bersa 380cc. The Bersa is quite comfortable, and that's the one I mostly use with this holster. I can get away with the G19, but it's not as comfortable. As the weather heats up, I find myself using the SmartCarry more and more with shorts that aren't well suited t...

I agree that they should provide the tracking number, and they need to respond to customer inquiries. But based on my experiences with both DT and UPS, I'm inclined to believe that UPS lost it. You might want to try http://www.Streichers.com . They have factory Gold dot for fair prices, plus other g...

I presume that FTL means it isn't loading the round or isn't going fully into battery. Sounds like a magazine spring or a dirty magazine to me. Before hassling with service, I'd clean the inside of the magazine to make sure the follower is able to move ok, and also I'd make sure the magazine spring ...

I got my Browning Buckmark Camper at Academy for $219, and I really enjoy it. It feeds the cheap ammo I give it well, and is more accurate than I am. It has been a great investment.

The cop told him 4 times to take his hands out of his pockets. After the third one, it appears to me to be a clearly defiant action of obscuring his hands.

What did the guy expect to happen?

I used to work in hotels and we would provide private access to store/remove the contents in the boxes. They hotel doesn't need to witness you accessing the box.

The only accessories I got are night sights and extra mags.

Then lots of ammo and range time.

Great pistol, btw. Mine's at about 11k rounds and still works perfectly.

My brother in law has a 92, and I've shot it on several occasions. I like it fine, but it didn't really move me to get one. Then one day, I decided to rent a 1911 to see what the fuss was about (it happened to be a Kimber 5", fwiw). It only took a few rounds to realize that I REALLY liked the t...

I started to get into what he said, frankie_the_yankee, but didn't feel like typing it. You are absolutely correct about what he (apparently) said. I know lots of people (some with guns, some without) who have very little understanding of the laws relating to force and lethal force. I do think that ...
