IDPA or USPSA matches are a good way to get in trigger time. If you have a club with advanced shooters, you can learn a lot.
Structured training courses or matches are about the only times I burn more than about 200 rounds in a single session.
I have never shot over 600-700 rounds during two-day schools.
If I get Wife Unit to tag along, I get done with my stuff, and sit there and keep reloading her mags till she starts griping, then I hand her the .45, then she'll hush...
