A little additional "lite" reading to support some folks opinions/ideas...

Timing couldn't be better!!!
BTW, I am not bashing Democrats...I just have a healthy disagreement with their agenda...My ideas are diametrically opposed on many political issues...And I am sure they feel the same way about me...
I'm of the opinion that we need to remove the plank from our own eye (republican leaderhip) before we engage those that are our political opposites...

Re: Obama's Plan to Turn Texas Blue
Unfortunately, I am part of the Republican Party establishment (20 years), I say unfortunate, because it is hard to obtain any leadership positions in a group that is more concerned with keeping their own leadership positions and status more than winning elections...But some of us in the ranks will endeavor to persevere...Purplehood wrote:I know that the GOP is looking for ideas...they sent me a questionnaire right after the last election asking what I thought needed to be done to improve their general situation. I am not claiming credit, but apparently alot of folks think like I do because they seem to have adopted some of the thoughts I floated.K.Mooneyham wrote:I copied the link to that article and sent it to the Republican Party of Texas. Not sure if they will give a hoot about it, but no one can say I didn't try.
First, you have to bhave candidates that really have virtuous intent, true conservative and proven values, who believe in the original intent of the duties of government and understand they are there at the sole behest of their constituency...It is hard to find people willing to put their heads on the chopping block that don't already have some other "get out of political jail card" ready to throw down...
Some of us will continue to try and pump out the bilges of this political ship, and hopefully we'll still be afloat to attempt to deliver folks with believable "conservative" messages that truely reasonate to the people so we can start winning back this country...
The Democrats have beaten this Republican party leadership in two general election cycles, and the tea leaves were proving this trend way back as far as 2004...they have a message (if you can call it that) that resonates with younger, talented, yet politically young folks that look for leadership that doesn't stiffle, and doesn't pigeon-hole new folks who are eager to get involved into some lame timeframe of "you have to sit there and wait for your chance to sit at the big table" mentality...
The democrats are wiping the floor of republicans on a technological front...Just go look at some of the county party websites they put up...
True Conservatism should not be looked at or expected to be some stodgy, old peoples' way of doing things, and folks that come in with new ideas, should not be immediately cast off as something that replaces those old-school values...That is what is destroying ANY chance of future political successes for the entire country...
And the political leadership of the Republican party had better believe they are a target for change, whether they like it or not...It is not a hateful movement, or one that needs to be contentious, but it will be perceived as such because I fully understand the leadership and its need to justify their existance, and they are afraid they'll lose something personal, instead of considering losing something bigger...Their country and its unalienable rights afforded in those pesky founding documents they claim to protect...
They are doing a lousy job of it!!!
I'm off my soapbox now...
I need to write this stuff down before I forget it!!!
