You mentioned that you wanted feedback, so I'll add this. I don't think it has been mentioned yet. Frequently adjusting yourself is one of the giveaways that allow people to notice that you're carrying. If your clothing is appropriate for your gun/holster, then you shouldn't need to constantly adjust yourself. Put it on. Cover it up. Leave it alone.

Its called big guy problems. I'm constantly adjusting even when I don't carry. I wasn't constantly adjusting my piece. 6"3" 260lbs its hard to sit any where comfortably.

Looks like this is going to turn into a larger issue. I guess from now on, those of us that enjoy an atmosphere with the mediocre food and would like to still maintain the highest level of personal protection will have to cast our eyes upon other similar venues. I hear Twin Peaks and/or the Tilted Kilt can fit the bill.
I have been to twin peaks plently of times with no issues. Maybe because I know the managers and they know that I tend to carry is why I dont get any feedback from them. But Tilted Kilt is my new place.

I think I would have asked him just what the deal is....has he considered that I may be wearing an insulin pump, or other life support system? I would indignantly refused to discuss with him what I was wearing and that also includes the type of underwear I may or may not be wearing.

I would then tell him, if you want me to leave I certainly will, but before I do I want your name and your regional manager's name and phone number.

Cheap lesson buddy, chalk it up to the cost of wisdom. :thumbs2:
:headscratch Did the manager see the "bulge" or was the manager responding to what the server reported?

He stated that he saw it. But, like I said that was after I got up and probably adjested myself wrongly.

Re: Bad Experience

And now they're alerted to the fact that they have no signs. You were given a verbal notice, which is enough to legally prevent you from carrying inside. Calling in to complain is fine, but IMHO you should have left it at that and moved on rather than call the district manager to complain.
I'm aware a verbal is as good as a written. :rules:

I'm not a Hooters historian so I have no idea. Regardless, I'd recommend you work on your carry method to avoid such issues in the future.

Yes, this has already been established. :deadhorse: I was actually able to think of that on my own before I joined the forum.

Re: Bad Experience

Well, first off I didn't say you had the wrong signs I said you have NO signs out front that would prevent me from bringing my handgun in. Second, I'm not law-abiding? Why would you want to carry or dine at an establishment that doesn't allow us to carry? Third, yes if I had never went to Hooters in the firs place this would still be an unknown issue. ***Subsequent comment removed by moderator***

I never said I "need" my glock inside hooters, but if it is my gun of choice and I can properly conceal it, which is the issue here, then we have no issue. I've done is pleanty of other times in and out of hooters, but there is always that one time...

:eek6 Lightbulb! Maybe it's not the gun, maybe it's not the manager; could it be the hooters?

Idk, is it? They have a hotline you can call if you would like to inquire for yourself. :skep:

And thats exactly why I was upset because he initally asked me what the bulge was? Then he said, "I assume its a gun and I know there is gun laws for you to carry but we dont allow it here."

And thats what i stressed to him, so I dont doubt they will get a sign in the future. But, probably the wrong one at first. :rules:
It's generally not a good idea to clue in the clueless when it comes to signage. That's what they pay their lawyers for.

I didn't go to into vast detail. Simply stated if you only want LEO to carry into your establishment look into getting the proper signs out front instead of having to stare down everyone.

Oldgringo wrote:"Concealed is concealed" or did someone say that already? From what I've seen/read here, Hooters was/is not the problem. Try MacDonalds next time....better yet, go to Sonic.

Me, I ain't a Hooters kinda' guy.

Then what is the problem? Since, thats why I got on to this forum in the first place to see what would be better on my part to do next time and not to get an opinion on other places to have lunch/dinner. :totap:

Re: Bad Experience

No. I didn't know that is wasnt properly concealed. Because I was sitting on a stool and adjusting myself frequently to make sure my shirt didnt slide up. But like someone else previuosly stated shirts tend to ride up depending on the seat you are in. I just have a 6th sense to stuff like this. Why else did he need to talk to me? Because I'm thinking when I got up tot use the restroom and I adjusted my shirt i accidently exposed it because of how I was sitting because when I came back is when he approached me. No one else "harped" on it because they knew the sistuationa and what I meant by it. :waiting:
