Re: Finally sent my app docs out
No. Don't call. They take average 3 weeks to update your status. Wait 24 days from the day you mailed it (not counting weekend or holidays like today) before you call.[/quote]jayinsat wrote:
Still nothing but, "License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page."
It has been 25 days since I completed the application, 18 days since I mailed my packet (photos, chl-100 etc)...some of yall seem to have had updates already. Should I call the DPS?
Ok, makes sense...based on your numbers I should begin calling on Nov 30th if no update? That would be 25 work days (no holidays/weekend days) from the day I mailed the supporting docs in.

I have the same update on my application now as well. Sorry I didn't know how to upload the image.
A most fitting Veteran's Day update.

Re: Finally sent my app docs out
Well, we lost the Presidential election, they have the Senate, the Presidency and most likely the Supreme Court...on the other hand we have the house and will have an open ticket in 4 years.
In other news, I still have not seen a status change - worried about Child Support - I think I am ok though...I am current, but my case was transferred from Smith Co. to Denton Co. and Smith Co. neglected to close my records, then started showing me as 1k behind....a few phone calls to friends and I was informed it was taken care of "simple mistake on part of the Co (att gen office) - simple for them, but painfully scary for me.
Have any of yall carried without the license? I wear my gun at the house, and practice at the ranch and range - I am so ready to be able to lawfully conceal this gun - almost can't stand it.

Glad to see that we are waiting in line together!Flix89 wrote:Hey Trey,
It appears that we sent out our documents at the same time. I would appreciate any update you receive on the status of your application. In turn I will also update you on the status of mine since our dates are similar.
Good luck.
11/4 and still nothing on my end

jayinsat wrote:You may consider getting invovled in IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association). It is a fun, safety oriented, defensive shooting competition geared towards novices like us. It is an awesome way to practice techniques for real life situations that a CHL licensee might face. It's relatively inexpensive to get involved in. You use your gear you already have, not some tricked out pro shooting equipment. Check em out.
Very cool! I will look into it.
Really want a different sighting system on my G27 - XS Big dot or Ameriglo Pro Operator?

Finally sent my app docs out
Hey everyone!
My name is Trey, and I live in Tyler, TX
Here is my current timeline
Mid July purchased a G27 Gen 4 (approximately 600 rounds through it since I picked it up)
8/4/12 - CHL class completed - Shot my G27 with standard flush mags better than everyone else in the class (tighter group - 1 of 2 with a perfect score)
10/19/12 - app fee paid finger print fee paid
10/26/12 - finger prints submitted paperwork mailed
Now for the wait
Anyone know of a good defensive pistol class in the North Texas / East Texas region?
