Re: February Applications
MYSTERY SOLVED! I entered the wrong birthday!   Oh they're going to love me over there. You'd think that entering the wrong DOB, the right DL number, the righ SSN the right PIN and the wrong birthday would bring up a different error message. I bet they looooooove people like me over ...

Re: February Applications
Now I'm REALLY confused. I logged in on Internet Explorer just to see if I'd get more information - sometimes Firefox isn't compatible with govt websites - and it's just a Processing Application message. This is literally minutes later :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: I emailed them. I'm not in a po...

What on earth does this mean (I know, I can read, just wondering if anyone's gotten it before). The data you have submitted indicates you may not be eligible for this service. Please verify the data submitted is correct. If you still cannot proceed, please contact DPS at 1-800-224-5744 or email chl@...

Re: February Applications
Well at long, long last my packet is in - signed for by the DPS on 2/09. My TR100 would have been invalid after 2/10! :leaving I had plenty of reasons to delay, but I'm glad things are in order! I'd also like to thank Charles for taking time out of his day to clear up some questions I had several mo...

first application expiration question
Alright, I understand that I have 2 years from the earliest date on my TR100 to submit my application to the lovely CHL folks. So let's just say that day is 2/10/07, meaning I have until 2/10/09. Does that mean: 1. It has to be postmarked by that date, on its way in? 2. It has to be in their posessi...

Saps, et al.
I'm a touch confused about the current rules regarding the ownership of saps, tomahawks, switchblades and all the rest of the illegal weapons. It seems like there was a recent change allowing, say, one to carry a spear in the car so long as you weren't in the middle of a commission of a some crime, ...

Re: do I need a CHL for this?
Boy, this is really interesting stuff. I'm surprised it ISN'T apparently a cut-and-dried deal.
Is the law really any different (or any more clear, for that matter) if the firearm in question was a shotgun?

do I need a CHL for this?
wondering what the legality on this might be:
assuming I was spending the night with my girlfriend at her parents' house, which she is taking care of, is it legal for me to bring my gun over there for the night?

Re: tell or not to tell
I've talked with a couple friends who know I've taken some steps to get a CHL and have a passion for guns, but I've also told them flat-out that I will never, ever tell them if and when I'm carrying or even if I get a liscence. The fewer people who know, the better. The girlfriend and the immediate ...

Re: Out of state, underage DWI...
it's significanlt less than 5 years, however.
and yes, they will find out. or, if they don't and you do shoot somebody justified or not, you can bet an attorney will find out you never should have gotten a CHL in the first place.

to wheelgun or not to wheelgun (9mm vs .357)
I love revolvers. I love everything about revolvers except their capacity, but even that can be mitigated. I'm very, very torn. I'm a young guy and getting ready to buy the first gun all over again (first was a Kahr Arms PM9 that was stolen). A big part of me wants the 3" GP100, a big part of m...
