I will look you up, I'm signed up under the pseudonym Matthew Grubbs. I'll be disguised as a fat happy guy with a Glock 19 on his hip, if he doesn't hit the targets, it's me!Rangel wrote:That's the one I picked.

Re: My first IDPA fun match
Question:
If an executive order to remove semi autos from America happens, will IDPA add a SSBB category (standard Service Baseball Bat)?

Re: My first IDPA fun match
So I paid $20 to the arms room. No other fees. I went through a box of ammo, but we didn't get to shoot the whole six rounds. I imagine we would want to bring about a hundred to make sure you don't run out. You will need a holster and a mag holster (which I don't have....yet).HenryAKirk wrote:About how much did it cost to to shoot the match?
Round count?
Match Fees?
Any other costs besides gas?
I am kind of on a budget (poor) and want to get into IDPA shooting but I need to plan and save up a little cash before I just go out and play.
I'm going to do it for the next two Mondays, if it goes well, I will join team train wreck. It is a low, annual fee.

I have to now, just saw my accuracy results posted on line.....dead lastPiney wrote:*still politely chuckling @ someone's wife's pink vest*canvasbck wrote:Glad you had a good time! If you were who I think you were, then I was watching you pretty close on the first scenario (as I do with all new shooters) and you were indeed good about keeping your finger off the trigger and maintaining good muzzle control. ( I was the fat guy in the pink vest).
Good group them Trainwreckers. Fun to shoot with and quite patient with new shooters.
Hope you keep coming out.
Got to go back and work on my

My first IDPA fun match
Went to my first one last night. Met lots of nice people. Lots of us "newbies" there. Folks seemed to be quite patient with us and that was most appreciated.
Im going to tell on my self. I was shocked on my first scenario; I peered around "cover" and just about completely forgot how to shoot, my grip was wrong....I was shooting with my left eye???....fumbled around trying to be "safe" on my magazine reload.... Even with all that, the range officer said he appreciated me listening to instruction, and for being safety minded
Once he built my confidence up, I did better the rest of the night.
On a side note, it was at the Arms Room in League City. Between rounds, it became obvious that I needed a magazine holder so I went into the sales room and asked a employee to show me some, he walked me over to that section and.......Completely sold out!
He seemed genuinely shocked. He was surprised with everything being scarfed up in the panic buying. I can't imagine magazine holsters making Senator Frankinstiens "ban" list!?!
If you were there, I hope I got to meet you.
