That looks almost exactly like what I'd like. Simple, no need for a whole bunch of tacticool rails....just enough for a micro RDS, and a bone-simple clamp for a surefire coming off the side.
I know you don't have your optic yet, but have you done any research as to what sort of co-witness most micro RDS offer when mounted that way? Bottom 1/3? Absolute? Inquiring minds and all....

Jeepguy79, that's the sort of configuration that I'd like to get in an AK. I'm an "AR guy", but I'd like to start gaining new skills.
I like to have my carbines equipped with a zero magnification sight (as far forward as is feasible), as well as a flashlight mount (preferably with a flashlight that can be taken off in a pinch). Any suggestions as to mounts?
