Re: Signs for the CHLer
I took my chl course just last month. The instructor told us that a 'gunbuster' sign serves as effective notice only to the employees of a business that posts such a sign. In other words, If your place of employment posts a gunbuster sign, you can't carry there. (giving notice in the employee manua...

Mail Forwarding for New License?
I recently moved, and have mail forwarding. I'm assuming my CHL license will still come to my new address like any other mail, right? (I know I have to change my address with the state, but I figured it was easier to do it after the process finished than muck around with it in the middle of it)

Did the class back in January, but took the packet to the post office today and sent it off. Now the waiting really begins!

WHat is the date used for criminal background?
So under the CHL eligibility requirements, it states "has not, in the five years preceding the date of application, been convicted of a Class A or Class B misdemeanor or equivalent offense or of an offense under Section 42.01, Penal Code, or equivalent offense". What date does it use for t...

Re: Expunged Records
I dunno if I did mine right or not, but I am not sure it mattered. Had a bounced check to the DPS for car registration bounce, forgot about it, ended up with a warrant. I went to the court, paid it, was told to to a "No Cost Bond", and given deferred adjudication. This would have been in s...

Re: 2013 newbe status 'check'
What is the protocol for being stopped and asked for ID if I have not received my License, as I will show on the system as having a chl but I can't produce one? I was told in my class to always produce the chl with my dl to avoid possible confusion with the LEO even if I am not armed. In fact I cou...

And so it begins ....
Took my CHL class on 1/19, paid the fees online on 1/25. Fingerprint appointment is 2/5, and materials will be mailed out that day.
Should I sent them regular mail, or something faster with delivery proof?

Question about online application regarding work addresses
I have had a few jobs where I worked for a temp agency (Robert Half Technology, for example). They were who paid me anyway. I would work for a client of theirs. For the purposes of the online application for CHL, what address do I enter? a) Address on paystub (out of Menlo Park, CA) b) address of a ...
