It circulates the water in the "hot" pipes so it doesn't get cold, and you don't have to run the shower for 3 minutes before getting in.

I'd like to know what they have exactly. I had a Grundfos recirculating system for Instant Hot Water in the house I just sold and it was idiotic. When on, we had hot water all the time, in both sides and when it was off, we had none until it ran up the pipes. Completely worthless. I figured it was the valve under the sink but replacing that changed nothing.

It's a great idea, if it worked as advertized.

I'll have to look at mine to tell you what model it is. But yes, it sounds like the valve at one of your outlets was bad allowing the hot water to flow back in to your cold lines all the time. For us, run the cold water for 10 seconds and the warm water is pushed out and the water is cold. Except in summer and its only chilled to 100.

I know my pump has a timer on it but I have mine set to run 24X7.

Outside vented hood over the stove top
Tankless water heater
Hot water circulation system
80 PSI minimum water pressure
Large shower with multiple shower heads
