Re: Knowing Now Are You Still Participating in Face Book?

Potential fine to Facebook is $40,000 per violation. If there were 80,000,000 violations that would mean a fine of $3.2 trillion dollars. Enough to build the wall and pay off a few debts. If I didn't pay my taxes I am sure that they would go after me.

Re: Knowing Now Are You Still Participating in Face Book?

Just signed up for mewe. Looks like a Facebook alternative without the tracking. As I still use older IOS devices be warned ahead of time that their app requires IOS 10 or higher so I can not use it on an older device. None of my IOS devices will update. My wife of course runs state of the art.

Of course you're math is spot on, but those who resist are weak.

Why, I know FB is leftist, but I have to stay with it because...I'm a weakling.

I'm hopelessly hooked and need to join some 12 step program to rid myself of FB.

Here's a start, quit worrying and using FB.

Pretty simple.

FB needs to die.

Fewer users, quicker death to a leftist monster.
You should get back on FB and be obstinate with people who don’t share your views rather taking out your anger on us who aren’t meeting your expectations for our lives.
Here is the fallacy of that argument. You don't change the snowflakes with the logic of your argument. So that is not a reason to be on FB. What you do though is continue membership in an organization that can only survive by membership numbers and FB is not on the side of the 2a either. If you want to hurt FB you need to decrease their membership numbers, not to continue to use them. If you really want to help preserve the 2A you will become an NRA member and donate to them. We preserve the 2A by feeding our own, not feeding those that want to destroy us.

Flightmare wrote:I see facebook as a tool, just as I'm sure many others do. The people who are running the company may lean liberal, but that does not mean the tool cannot be utilized for things we support. Some people have said they use the site to argue against antis. While the die-hard antis may not have their minds changed, there are those who sit on the fence that may be convinced that being rabid anti-gun is not for them. These are the people we want to reach.

There are some who use facebook for work. My church uses it to reach out to people in the neighborhood, as well as providing social media access for prayer requests. I also use it to keep up to date on local weather as to when the National Weather Service is activating storm spotters in my area. It is a tool.

And yes, many of us here use it to keep up with family. Photos, videos, and messages are all easier to see on social media. Yes, you can do a phone call, or a video call. What if you are unable to reach that particular family member at that time to share a live video? I've been able to watch videos of my sister and her family in Seattle that I would otherwise have missed because of facebook. My point is, social media (and more specifically facebook) is a tool.

Maybe social media isn't for you, and that's fine. I believe all of us here know that the people who run facebook are left leaning and mostly anti-2a. Just like the choice we each make to open carry vs conceal carry; I won't shame a person for their choice, even if my personal choice is to do something different.
FB may be a tool but everything you do on FB is making them money to deprive you of your rights. Just like shopping in a store with a 30.06 when you could have gone elsewhere to shop. That photo on FB is loaded with gps info on where and when it was taken. There is no limit on what they know about you and yours from your account. It wouldn't be so bad if they cared about the constitution but they don't. You are helping the devil. Next you may want to subscribe to Bloomberg News. Just my opinion.

Re: Knowing Now Are You Still Participating in Face Book?

Do you know the story about the penny doubled every day for 30 days. Change that to a person every day double for 30 days. If that would happen, one person on day one, 2 on day 2, 4 on day 3, etc. That would be 536,870,912 people would drop FB in 30 days. Or, if it were a penny you would have $5,368,709.12. Tell me if the math is wrong.

Re: Knowing Now Are You Still Participating in Face Book?

Everyone has an excuse as to why they keep FB. Therefore nobody drops out and the numbers that FB sells to advertisers stays the same. Their income is not affected, we all provide them with new datamining material, etc. You want to keep in touch with your family, call them. E-mail them. Do that video phone call. Write them a letter and mail it. Does your business really depend on FB? Hope you are not into selling firearms if that's the case.

Arguing 2A issues is your thing. You are just being datamined into another group, until they stop allowing you to argue your thing. Are you changing any snowflake minds or is it just making you feel better?

I dropped my account. Will my dropping make a difference? Not by itself but Lamb in PA won an election by just a few hundred votes and put a democrat into office. Just a few hundred votes.

Either you talk the talk or walk the walk. So many just do the talk, like being brave about rushing into battle to save unarmed civilians. Talk the talk and claim to walk the walk. Not directing this at any one person but talk is cheap.

Ready for being flamed.

Re: Knowing Now Are You Still Participating in Face Book?

Cancelled FB tday. And they do mine data from text messages. That's what they do. I personally have no need for FB and used it once in 3 years. I had no friends, including family. I guess that says a lot about my character. On the other hand, there are bots mining data from this site but at least our names are not public.
