Just received an email from RSD saying "Congratulations! You passed, and your certificate is in the mail." I finished the class last Friday, so it's been exactly one week.
According to the email, the certificate will come with and ID/password to access the course outline, student test and the required student and instructor forms, along with the instructions to complete those forms. That seems to be the extent of the course material provided by DPS.

Re: Finally I am offered the CHL Instructor's Class
I was surprised that nothing about teaching the class was actually covered in the instructor's class - no outline, no lesson plans, nothing about scheduling, reporting, etc. The only thing mentioned about actually teaching a class was it had to be 4-6 hours of instruction, excluding breaks, the test and range time.BCGlocker wrote:
I know the material pretty good. However, they did not cover any of the reporting and other logistic procedures. They did say we would receive a package along with our certificate. I hope the info will be there.
Like BCGlocker, I assume all of that information will be in the packet we're supposed to receive late this week/early next.

Re: Finally I am offered the CHL Instructor's Class
I was there as well, but in the second relay. We had a couple of folks from the first relay doing their re-shoot, and I believe they both qualified.BCGlocker wrote:After Action Report for the Instructor's course on Jan. 20--22, 2016.
I finished the instructor's course today. There were 98 students and about 6 instructors. On day 3 is the "proficiency demonstration". I had to be there at 7:30 AM for the 8 AM first relay. It was a bit of windy and about 38 degree but still every shootable. We had 48 students shooting relay one. Although I can't see the entire line, but from what I saw, most students were all good shots. The course was well organized and pretty easy to pass. It was interesting to observe that 3 or 4 Springfield XD pistols had light strikes and several students could not get all their shots off. I know one student had to reshoot with the second relay using a burrowed gun, not sure about rest of them, as they were not near me.
Definitely colder and windier than I would have liked, but it was manageable.

Re: Finally I am offered the CHL Instructor's Class
I received the same email, and also opted for January. Now just have to wait for the confirmation.
I submitted all of my docs on 10/7, so it only took two months, much quicker than I expected. Maybe they are finally catching up with demand?
