Re: MO: St. Louis Lawyers Defend Mansion From BLM Protesters In Viral Video

So is this a win? No, it's not. They took the easy way out with a plea bargain, surrendered their firearms, and let the other side take a win. Most definitely not a win. Agreed. Very disappointing. Yes and no. No it isn't full vindication. However, several more years of litigation and many thousand...

Re: Patron in Restaurant pulls gun on armed BLM marchers

Look at the gun this guy pulls on BLM protestors that entered the restaurant where he was eating. The article says several BLM members were visibly armed: https://www.foxnews.com/us/louisville-restaurant-patron-gun-blm-protesters-kentucky-derby I saw that on Facebook. It became apparent he was outg...

Re: Texas 06 Congressional District election

As an Ellis County resident I can tell you that the Ds had near zero presence where I live and drive (Midlothian and Waxahachie areas). Nearly all the signs I saw were for R candidates. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I think the top D got 9% of the vote here. I'm really happy with that....

Re: Supreme Court Grants Cert in Second Amendment Concealed Carry Case

In a 5-4 situation like that I think Roberts may move to a 6-3 anyway. If he is in the majority, he can determine who writes the opinion. An opinion written by him as opposed to Thomas is much different. That said, I don't think Roberts has been bad historically on 2A. He voted with the majority on...

My 4 yr old found my pistol today!

Relax! It was securely holstered on my right side. :biggrinjester: My son had known that I have a bb rifle (he calls it my "quiet gun") that I am going to teach him to shoot with. Although I've carried concealed with him many, many times, he's never known. I guess the concealed part has be...

Re: Anyone personally know of an open range?

Colion Noir recently revealed on Youtube that he shoots at Texas Defensive Shooting Academy outside of Ferris. Because of the video, I assume the range is open. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d0epgRh8fo I watch his stuff sometimes. Great to know since Ferris isn't far from me. :tiphat: SA-TX

I bet it is. My little 2 acres definitely isn't enough but it is a decent compromise, all things considered.

Re: Anyone personally know of an open range?

If you're willing to come a little east, Big Rock Gun Club just north of Eustace is still open. You need a member to bring you and its 10$ per person, unless you want to join and pay the annual fee. 540 Yards max range, though. Some consider that too short to warranty the drive. PM me around that t...

Lijitas cowboy shoot = fun

One of the consequences of having another birthday is that I don't recall if I told this story here. I don't think that I did. Down in the Big Bend is a town right on the Rio Grande called Lijitas (pronounced like the mexican dish that starts with an F). There is a resort there where the rooms are p...

Anyone personally know of an open range?

God has blessed me and my family such that I can still take some time away from this craziness in mid-April. After all, given the times, marksmanship might be an important skill. Not to mention the stress relief. Anyone personally know of a range in Ellis, Hill, Johnson, Navarro counties that you ex...

Re: Road report: 2013 Mazda CX-5, Skyactiv, 6 speed manual.

Years ago I had a 1966 Chevy with 3 on the tree and a straight 6. There was not even carpet in it...LOL. Oh... and no A/C. Yep. My first truck was a 68 F100 with a 360 and 3 speed on the column. 4 wheel drum brakes, no power steering, no ac, and no carpet. I still have it but it needs work. Haven't...

Great chat with Midlothian officer

My wife and I took our son to a local park where he could play on the equipment and drive his battery-powered fire truck. This really brings back memories for me as I had one in the early to mid 1970s. In another part of the lot were two Midlothian officers. After some driving, my son went to the pl...

Looks like they’re talking about the old historic building: https://www.waxahachietx.com/news/20190715/celebration-held-to-reopen-doors-of-historic-ellis-county-courthouse I, too, live here. I believe that it is primarily, if not exclusively, a museum now. More importantly, I'm so glad our new coun...

PA Supreme Court - Concealed carry is not RAS of a crime

The case is the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania vs. Michael J. Hicks, decided on 5/31/19. The opinion can be downloaded from here https://law.justia.com/cases/pennsylvania/supreme-court/2019/56-map-2017.html . I note a few things: - It follows many other jurisdictions and the SCOTUS in that it declines...
