I have a SR 1911... using UMC, Remington, Winchester white, and federal 230 ball all ran well with the factory mags... I found using chip mccormick shooting star mags unreliable in the sr1911... I have 6 checkmate 8 rounders that run flawlessly... I reload most of my stuff now.. having used billys bullets 200gr, federal cases and wnichester primers, and bullseye @ 5gr set coal 1.175? now using friendswood cast 230.. same formula...coal @ 1.200

I did have some feed problems early on... every once in a great while as the SR1911 is a pretty "tight" gun .... after about 500 to 1000 rounds.... its runs real well.... I can say that my chamber is on the tight side so if the od of the round is a little large then problems on going into battery have been experienced...but these were issues with overseas ammo, I have had no such problems out of US made ammo....
