I told him about all the options people have to send documents, he did not know about it. He was shocked that I have not received any updates yet, but it is what it is, nothing I can do about it now but wait.jmra wrote:nightmare69 wrote: What was his response to the online suggestion? Did you mention being able to email the supporting documents? That also seems to save a lot of time.

Re: Called DPS, found out some new info.
I did call my instructor and let him know what was going on, he thought I already got my plastic weeks ago. I told him Ive had zero updates from DPS and its been almost 2 months. I told him he needs to tell his students to do the online application cause the mail in paper app will add alot of time on getting plastic.

Yep, nothing I can do at this point though but wait.Natesac wrote:nightmare at this point I'd say you've crossed the threshold into unreasonable wait time for an update.
I did the mail in paper application cause I was unaware of the online app. If you do the paper app you have to wait till DPS enters your info into the system or sends you a letter by mail before you can schedule fingerprints. When I initially got my CHL I sent everything including fingerprint cards in at the same time,I'm confused about you claiming that you need to wait to send fingerprints until they start processing your paperwork.Unless they changed something if you didn't send in your fingerprints then they can't check your background
Ive been thinking about this, everytime I call DPS you get different answers, I don't think anyone knows anything there.Depending on who your State Representative is a call to their office might be beneficial.

I know, thats what I told him, idk why they would lie.arawli wrote:nightmare69 wrote:Dang! They figured us out! We are ALL lying, cause that's what dishonest types like us all do! They just need to tell you WHY we'd all lie...cause I sure don't know. Can you call them back and ask them why we'd all be lying and then let us all know what they say? I'd really like to know why I keep lying. I just can't stop. Maybe they'll know if there's a cure too, or a pill to take. Would you ask them that too? Thanks!
I'd say "Don't believe everything you're told on the phone with TXDPS".

Re: Called DPS, found out some new info.
I also like to point out I told the DPS customer service rep that Ive seen others on this forum who mailed their packets 2-3 weeks after me were getting updates while I was still not in the system. They said, "don't believe everything you read on that forum, Ive been reading posts on TxCHL Forum since 2008"
I have no reason to believe that anyone on here is lying about their updates but the customer service rep seems to think so.

Called DPS, found out some new info.
I called this morning right at 8am and was only on hold for 6mins. I called regarding my status cause today is week 8(56 days) and Im still not showing up in the system when I try to log in. They checked my status and said the same thing. I asked about the 60 day statute and I was told this by DPS.."the 60 day statute is out of date and no longer applies"
I told them then they need to update their website and their automated message that says.."applications take up to 60 days to process" when you call. DPS told me they should start on my mail in application within the next week or two. So it could take 9-10 weeks before they even start on my application and enter my info into the system.
I still have to get my fingerprints done but since I did the mail in app I have to wait till DPS enters my info before I can schedule my fingerprint appointment. I thought I would pass on what I was told this morning.
My timeline in in my signature btw.
