Re: Boycott House of Blues-Deputy disarmed

No LEOs can work there anymore per department policy. They have been put on the restricted list. The union is working on negotiations with HOBs but it looks like a dead end.

LEOs are allowed to enjoy life and cut loose like everyone else. If you do that it's a good idea to disarm. Honestly, I have only had 1 drink at a restaurant since I got a badge. I also disarmed before doing so. This is why most LEOs would rather party at home or a friends house vs a bar.

My concern is that the LEO believes he should be treated differently because he is a LEO ( his boys in blue club). What's with this us and them mindset? LEOs aren't a special farernity. They have perpetuate one ( and we have allowed it). I grew up around LEOs, I wouldn't let some date my daughter , some are salt of the earth.....huuum......Sounds like the general population.
Sec. 46.15. NONAPPLICABILITY.

(a) Sections 46.02 and 46.03 do not apply to:

(1) peace officers or special investigators under Article 2.122, Code of Criminal Procedure, and neither section prohibits a peace officer or special investigator from carrying a weapon in this state, including in an establishment in this state serving the public, regardless of whether the peace officer or special investigator is engaged in the actual discharge of the officer’s or investigator’s duties while carrying the weapon

I know this only prevents LEOs from being charged with carrying a firearm. The owner has the right to refuse entry. Since the owner of this club is Dan Aykroyd, a leftist anti-gun libtard, this policy is no surprise.

Re: Boycott House of Blues-Deputy disarmed

Code words and secret knocks.

You have to post a video of you in uniform doing the whip and nea nea dance.

Re: Boycott House of Blues-Deputy disarmed

From what I've read on my LEO only group on Facebook, this business will be changing its policy regarding off duty LE carry very soon. I doubt this will happen again.

I'm going to go enjoy my much needed night off after pulling 68hrs the last week.

Re: Boycott House of Blues-Deputy disarmed

Would I lie and walk in? No. I would not give them any business. If they hired off duty officers as security I would inform that department and I'm sure they would refuse to provide security to that business. We stand behind our own and if they don't let off duty officers carry then being in uniform does not matter and no department will let their officers wear the uniform unarmed.

As far as I getting involved, that would
depend on the totality of the circumstances.

I took a oath to protect the public both on and off duty in front of a judge and my sheriff who I represent. If you have the attitude of I don't have the obligation to protect the public because the supreme Court said so, then good luck getting a badge.

The NFL had the same policy when Jerry world opened up. Thanks to the Texas Legislature, that was changed.

Whenever I carry I do not drink a drop of alcohol. If I wanna have a drink, I'll go disarm.
I thought a CHL was unnecessary if you were a LEO? Doesn't that badge allow you to carry anywhere and walk right by 30.06?

If you're never off duty, how do you have a drink...and what department do you work in that requires you to get involved if you've been drinking?
I had a CHL before I was a LEO. I still keep it for gun purchases, it only $25 for 5yrs to keep it valid.

Yes I can walk past 30.06 and carry anywhere in Texas except a federal building. Under the LEO safe act I can carry anywhere in the US with certain restrictions.

If I drink outside of my home which is a rare occasion I never carry. If something does happen I will do what I can to intervene unarmed. My department requires us to carry off duty and get involved if any criminal activity is taking place especially in my county.

If I was in this deputy's position I would have never mentioned I was armed or a LEO. Does the House of Blues perform wand checks or pay downs?
