I know this is an older post but I just ran across this post (new member).

All of the personal data contained in a digital photo can be removed using your computer. On Windows just right-click on the photo(s) and select "Properties". Under the "Details" tab you'll see a link "Remove Properties and Personal Information". Clicking on this will give you the option to either make a copy of the photo(s) with all data removed or to select which data you want removed (i.e. - date taken, owner, location) permanently from the photo(s). I personally make a clean copy for posting online; I like to have a copy with the location and date for my poor memory!
