State Representatives and immediate results
All, It had been 41 days since DPS signed for mine and separately 4 others of my classmates completed application packets. We all had our fingerprints done in late January. The five of us had tried many, many times to contact DPS regarding our status through multiple channels and were never provided...

Re: DPS is currently inputting mid Feb.
You keep inaccurately stating that DPS is turning around CHL's in a 30-35 day range. Once I confirm the facts on our call today with our State Reps office I will state them on this board. I do not and will not ever convey inaccurate or unconfirmed facts with the hard working, law abiding folks who a...

Re: DPS is currently inputting mid Feb.
The statute allows 60 days to complete an application, even though their average is much shorter. Contacting a Representative or Senator before the statutory time limit has expired is unwarranted. As has been stated numerous times before, DPS does not get the CHL application fee; it goes to the gen...

Re: DPS is currently inputting mid Feb.
Day 41 since DPS received mine and still 'Awaiting Materials' . I checked this morning with 4 others who all had our COMPLETE packets delivered separately via certified mail on 2/21 and all are 'Awaiting Materials'. We've been in touch over the last week with our Texas State Representative and thank...

Re: How Long Do I Wait Before Re-Sending Packet?
I'm not sure if this will put your mind at ease, but myself and 4 other classmates from the Dallas area all had our completed packets separately received by DPS via certified mail on 2/21 and all of us are still getting the 'Awaiting Materials' status on the website. So far it's been exactly 40 days...

Re: Please don't use the term Wally Walk
Guys,
Not an April's fools joke and not a troll. I'm waiting for my CHL like many others on the board.
Just trying to help. I'm just repeating some of the comments I heard on the con call this morning. They are not my opinions.

Re: Please don't use the term Wally Walk
For the record, I'm not saying who I work for and I would certainly not support the policy. However, there is a proactive stance being taken to avoid media reports and the possibility of something occurring that made it look like the company I work for was 'in front' of any issues. Please be careful...

Please don't use the term Wally Walk
Ladies and Gentlemen, I work for a major, and I do mean major, retailer. We have been contacted by different news agencies concerning the term 'Wally Walk' and our condoning this term. We had a meeting very early this morning regarding it and I can say that policies will probably change if this stor...

Re: DPS Losing Documents?
I'm not sure who is getting their CHL in 30 days. But here are my facts and I personally know of several others who have the exact same timeline as me. I did the online registration on 1/17/2013. Fingerprints on 2/1/2013. Class on 2/16. Mailed in complete packet to DPS on 2/19 and received by DPS on...

Re: 6 weeks mailed and still "awaiting receipt..."
Couple of things: 1) They are completely overwhelmed with applications right now, and actually I think (taking 5 weeks door to door for mine) are doing a good job. 2) They have to wait for FBI (NOT DPS) to complete fingerprint and background--again they received more applications than ever before o...

Re: 6 weeks mailed and still "awaiting receipt..."
I don't think it's the fingerprint location. I did mine in North Texas and I'm on the exact same timeline as you. This is absolutely ridiculous that there isn't more oversight at this place especially considering the amount of money that hard working Texans are giving to the DPS. First thing Monday ...
